lay off the ad homiem attacks and jumping to conclusions about people you don't know with this assinine strawman

i never said i didn't like it, in fact i loved it. But i do think Hollywood lefties are trying to hard to have "diversity" by having interracial and same-sex relationships in every movie/tv show.. it is now more common and accepted now but there is no need for it every show.

Frankly, i see no need for them to have Rey in a romance with anyone other than because she is a female and they always have the main female character in a relationship. In the time she has know Finn pretty much all they did was run from capture/death, for her to be attrached to him/fall in love is pretty stupid.

Rey has to be a horndog after living alone in the desert. She's probably DTF to be honest

I don't really want to see a romantic relationship for Rey at this point. With anyone. So hopefully he was friend zoned.

I will say that any push for diversity in TFA was far less noticeable than in the first post-RoTJ novel where the main characters are a female bounty hunter, a gay man, a 12 year boy, and his mom (Ace fighter pilot for the Rebellion on top of being a doting mom who has a lesbian sister). The main villain is a black female imperial admiral who holds a man (Wedge Antilles) captive for the entire novel.

At this point, assuming Rey doesn't fall in love with Finn, I am a little nervous the new female lead will be the love interest.

exactly, there is no need for it but especially with some dude she just met and was put in danger with the whole time. kind of lazy hollywood cliches.

Hopefully. The recent push by Hollywood to "normalize" same-sex and interracial relationships is annoying.

Yep, cause interracial relationships sure as frick aren't normal. Not like 10% of marriages are interracial now. I'm sure there's no chance your kids marry anyone of a different skin color. Got to keep them precious white blood lines pure. Go frick yourself man.

I see where your coming from but really I'm not getting the impression that they are trying to shoe horn an interracial relationship in. I see many more comments (and especially posts on TD) complaining about things like interracial relationships than I do instances of trying to force them into films and shows.

Now whether they should have a relationship for Rey with Finn (or with anyone) is, I think, a legitimate question. I don't detect any chemistry between Rey and Finn so I think its probably better if they don't go there. On the other hand I think relationships are part of the charm of a series like Star Wars. (same as in most cowboy movies, samurai movies, etc.). So I think it would be good if one or the other of them did have some sort of a relationship with someone.

Holy shite....

Are you for real?

You are saying in 2015 it's not normal for males and females to have relationships with other unless they are of the same skin color?

Maybe they are, maybe they aren't in this movie, part of it is it seems like the Finn character in general is kind of worthless, and i again see no need for Rey to be in a relationship.

Maybe she doesn't like the BBC.

Also, how is a stormtrooper black? I thought they were all cloned after that one bounty hunter.

Finn is the most relatable character in the film. There is a reason why he seems so clueless about everything, fails to speak alien languages, etc.

He serves as a window for the audience

Do you guys even watch the movie before you post in these threads?

They made it abundantly clear that they don't clone anymore

It seemed to still be an option, just one they weren't currently using.

I just don't think they want Rey to end up a single Mom like Padme.

You know what they say about once you go Dark Side...
