He told a story that he was doing a live demo some where, wearing a wireless mic and he pulled a frank drebin. Lol

His painting style wasn’t for everyone. The way he painted and how relaxing he was to watch is why he is remembered.

He was a fine painter, nothing special.
The reason the show is so popular is because of Bob though, it’s an extremely relaxing show to watch and a show that is full of ASMR. As you can see on YouTube, ASMR is extremely popular, but some of that might be due to the THOTs that do ASMR.
The show was really just a commercial though to sell Bill Alexander’s paint supplies at first, then Bob’s once he started making his own merch.

Lost count of how many times i start screaming at the TV like “NO BOB WE DONT NEED A frickING CLOUD RIGHT THERE” then instantly you’re like “ah shite, not bad.”

I prefer his system of painting way more than what is passing for "Modern Art". One of our nephews has a friend that is an artist and I've seen a lot of his stuff and to tell the truth, I hate it. Most of it looks like he just tossed paint at a canvas, took a brush and smeared it around, let it dry then framed it.
At least Ross painted stuff you can relate to, although they got pretty repetitive with mountains, clouds, snow, water and the occasional cabin thrown in for good measure.

He was a good painter, great instructor, and overall wonderful guy that people enjoyed watching. Like Mr. Rogers for adults. He was just wholesome.
