New Alex Garland movie about a group of Seals in the Battle of Ramadi in Iraq in 2006.
Very intense and very realistic. Most war movies leave you with that “frick yea!” Feeling after. This one was more like “frick that”. It does an amazing job of giving you the sense of fear these marines had and how different soldiers react when in a combat situation. Especially when it comes to communicating. It’s got action but if you’re looking for a movie like 13 hours where US Soldiers are just mowing down jihads left and right you may be dissapointed, this is more about survival and trying to get injured soldiers evacuated. Great movie but feels like one I won’t want to rewatch anytime soon

9.5/10 from me.
Acting was superb. A lot of tension. I’ll prob see it twice.

That was another takeaway I had. All the guys that played the soldiers crushed it. I looked up every single one of the actors after.

94% RT critic and audience score. Looking forward to watching it Sunday.

Saw it in IMAX and damn it got so loud at times. Actors were fantastic and looked accurate at least from the stories my brother who served there told me on how things were. Would recommend seeing but an anxiety filling depiction not some bad arse shootout. Also cool seeing Gandolfini’s son in another role.

Yeah the "show of force" were awesome. Shook the whole theatre

Will check it out. I'm an Iraqi & Afghanistan vet & its hard to describe how it was like to those who haven't served. Hopefully PTSD doesn't kick in.

Man, this movie was brutal. And also great. It’s like a horror movie. It’s very very brutal to watch and not for everyone. I can tell you this, I don’t want my kids going to war.

What I told my kids. Stepson is in Navy though. MM2 (nuclear) on Eisenhower.

I really want a technical breakdown of this movie about what happened at this event

I was in Ramadi in 05/06 running out camp blue diamond.
Looking forward to this one.

From what i read on wiki this took place during the ending stages of Ramadi in November of 06. They have alot of info on wiki on the battle of Ramadi, havent had a chance to read it yet
Would love to hear from any vets on the board that see it. I had a group of, what seemed to me, military guys that sat in the back row and i noticed they didnt budge once the credits started rolling.

Just got out and echo the comments above. Gonna be a frontrunner for Best Sound for sure. My theater had it cranked to the max.

The screams were haunting in Imax. Also, the show of force was incredible. This is a movie that people should see in theaters. Incredible experience

We can we start discussing spoilers. I enjoyed it but have some questions.
Also, agreed. This is one of those movies that I don’t think would have the same impact if you ever see it without surround sound.

Just got out… holy shite what an experience.. I’m exhausted
This movie deserves an award for the audio mixing.
The “shows of force” were incredible in the theater.
My God, I am so grateful for the heroes in our military who served and continue to serve our country.

Can we talk about how fun that intro is with “call on me” playing… I didn’t know that was also the most fun it was going to get
