I think few videos games are candidates for good movies. The games that i think would make great movies are ones with simple concepts but done well, that can fit easily into the short format of a movie. One example would be Ghost of Tsushima. The story is very simple, a man seeking revenge and struggling with becoming something he doesn't want to be to achieve the goal. event hough the game is relatively long, it can be edited/shortened and still maintain the premise of the story.
One thing that makes video game stories so special to me is that they unfold over tens of hours, maybe over 100 hours. They can get quite intricate. Trying to cram that into a 2 hour period is going to fail almost every time. I think those are much more suited for TV series category. Expedition 33 is a good recent example. A fantastic story, great characters, and setting. But man, try to put that into a 2 hour box with any success. Good luck.
