I’m sure it has been asked many times before but a search doesn’t reveal any recent discussions. SPOILER ALERT just in case you haven’t seen it.
At the end of the film when the team quits on Kilmer and he leaves and the team plays the second half without him, where are the Assistant coaches?
The opposing team had a bunch, why didn’t West Cannan?

They called up the JV QB for the next week where West Canaan loses 52-0 and Mox is run out of town and never allowed back. He moves to some town near Cape Cod and fights over some chick with another dude.

I assume the assistant coaches were just as shitty as Kilmer since they also probably knew all the shite he was pulling over the years and walked out with him.
It’s also safe to assume most of the players were OK with forfeiting next week since they also hated Kilmer. They also probably weren’t keen on playing anymore football at that point and played that final game for each other.

Man, Coach Kilmer had 22 District titles and 2 state titles in 30 years. Legend. Mox class was just a bunch of pussies.

I was in high school when the movie came out and always watched it from the view of the players.
Now I have kids playing football and when I watch it, I see it from the view of the dads watching the practice and speculating on the season. It’s freakin hilarious to see this side of the movie. They knocked the dads out of the park.

Actually if you think about it, it’s kind of sad he only won 2 state titles in 22 years if he was winning district titles and getting a one seed every single year.

I guess you can assume because Kilmer was such a dictator he would only hire stooges and since they were loyal to Kilmer when he got booted they rolled with him out the door.

Not Another Teen Movie ruined so many movies like Varsity Blues that you can't watch them again without feeling like you're watching a parody.
