That's not how DNA works. She's not automatically half Latina because grandma and grandpa on one side were Mexican.

I agree, so be creative and create a world and superheroes that you want to fit your perceived world view and your desires.
Don't ask to influence and take over things that have already existed or been created. This isn't complicated.
And there's nothing wrong with lots of minority superheroes. Captain Marvel is great, Falcon is great, etc. There's no need to change big heroes for this purpose.

On that Lopez DNA show, she was 0% African, 13% Native American and 87% European.
