"On tonight's news: Brown Actress wants more film roles for Brown People.
Then in Sports, Crossfit Enthusiasts conclude that the best way to get in shape is... well, Crossfit."

And the audience groaned and booed.

She also seemed quite upset.

Her mother has Danish, Welsh, German, English and French ancestry

Alba has described her family as being a "very conservative family – a traditional, Catholic, Latin American family" and herself as very liberal; she says she had identified herself as a "feminist" as early as age five.

Well you ain't so Latin Jessica unless by Latin you mean French Latin.

Self hating whites should all commit ritual self sacrifice in adherence of their religion.

Anyway the MCU is speeding towards irrelevancy so it can do what it wants.

The only way to get Crossfit people to shutup about Crossfit is get them to vape.

They won't shut up, but they will change the subject matter.

Funny that you clipped off the other half of the sentence
quote:

while her paternal grandparents, who were born in California, were both the children of Mexican immigrants.
which explains how she's half Latina.

Hmmm, all this time. I thought she was also white.

Possibly? It depends if her grandparents are half Latino (each being from Mexican immigrants who married locals) or full Latino (both coming from a pair of immigrants each).

I only saw the quote, so I don't know if the end result is a parent who is 100% Latino, 75% Latino, or 50% Latino, but the wording leaves it open for all 3 possibilities. That, in turn, could have her as little as 25% Latino, possibly.

What if all of the European ancestors you listed were part Latino? What if you'd go to any length to rationalize that this obviously brown person isn't brown?

For frick's sake, she's never hidden her white ancestry. Quit trying to make her out to be a Rachel Dolezal.

Had she been a northern European parentage blond with blue eyes and a giggle she would not have gotten her role in Dark Angel which, IMO, got her remembered in the very best way.

That's not at all what I'm trying to say; I'm only pointing out that one person said she was "87% White" and you're saying she's "50% Latina". I'm looking at basic math.

While it is POSSIBLE her European ancestors were also part Latino, the odds are pretty slim when you compare that to Mexican immigrants in California in, what, the 1950s? That seems like a much more likely area for interracial couples than the areas of Europe her other side of the family is from.

That's all dude. Relax.

Oh FFS.

The MCU tends to cast based on talent rather than race. Idris Elba had to be the first black Norse God unless you count Flavor Flav.

Upper class people in a lot of Latin American countries are very insular.

They tend to be related to Europeans who have ruled there forever.

The lower classes are the ones far more likely to be descended from the native tribes.

Christina Aguilera, for example, claims to be a sizable percentage Ecuadorian. May be true but she is whiter than mayo. Most Ecuadorians that I know are much darker than her.

Yeah. She's essentially the color of Sophia Loren.

If the speaker has to remind the listener that they qualify for minority status? We're obviously having an inauthentic conversation about personal trivia.

FWIW it also seems untrue that people want to see and relate to movie stars they resemble. Very few of us look like movie stars and very few movie stars look like they fit in at a Chili's or Home Depot.

Just like female directors, action stars, etc. of the younger generation trying to claim glass-ceiling breaking, this is an insult to all, like Wesley Snipes, Michael Jai White, etc., who actually did it before (and better than) her.

Yes, it is about time for society to realize that any child, of any color, any background, can one day create a super suit and carry a nuclear weapon through a space portal while fending off intergalactic intruders.

Looks like we found the dude who doesn't know shite about dna or genetics. Watch Finding Your Roots someday, you might learn something from Skip Gates. Did you watch the George Lopez clip posted earlier? Miss Alba is 87% European. You know, a white woman, not a brown woman. Her last name in Latin literally means white. It's like people who mistakenly think Ariana Grande is Hispanic. She's not, she's mostly Italian.

No one said anything that could be construed as calling her Rachel Dolezal. Except you, with the claim that she's "obviously a brown person." She isn't.
