Finished it last night, final episode was amazing
Great twist there at the end. Did not see that coming

The biggest distraction for me was the park itself. Except for the wide shots of the major landmarks in Yosemite Valley, nothing else resembled Yosemite at all. The scenes in the woods were closer to rain forest than anything you would see in California. I thought it looked like Washington, but I looked it up and it was filmed in in BC so I was close. The vista shots that were meant to be away from the recognizable Valley were likewise not anything you'd see in California. I was surprised they even got permission to do commercial shooting in the Valley so it's not surprising that they didn't do additional shooting around interesting places like Hetch-Hetchy, Tuolumne Meadows, Olmstead Point, Tioga Pass, etc. So unfortunately the setting of Yosemite NP was irrelevant to the story, aside from the harrowing incident that starts the story.
Wait until I tell you that Harlan looks nothing like the scenery in Justified.
I get it though.

Finished this today and we loved it. Only complaint was the hypocrisy of bana telling Neil at the end “you have to make this right” while he’s letting his wife get away with murder, literally. I thought he should have let him slide, especially after he came to bat for him the whole series
Also, Neil had trouble hiding that Scottish accent in a few scenes. You could hear it pretty clearly
If we would have gotten this for the last season of true detective over whatever that Alaska bullshite was I would have been completely ok with it. Got TD vibes from it the whole time

I noticed that, too, but was wondering if his character might be Scottish. Neill usually has no problem hiding his accent. I didn't even know the dude was British for the longest time he was so convincing in Jurassic Park.

I enjoyed it. Not an ideal show to watch when you are on a business trip away from your 4 year old blonde headed boy.
Lmao the ending got me very emotional and when I got home I read my little guy every book he wanted.

Just started episode 3. Stg this better not be some "foreshadowing" to justify her jumping off trying to fly

I’ve never seen anyone work outside as much as he does and not wear a hat to block the sun.

Two episodes in and I'm not hooked. Yosemite is one of the most beautiful places in the world so I love seeing that aspect, I have pictures of quite a few of the places they keep showing, but the story isn't really getting me. A little cheesy at times.

I couldn't get past the ballistics evidence where he retrieved bullets out of tree trunks. Then the picture they got back showed the back of the casing with the primer to show the comparison instead of the projectile. Favorite part was each casing explicitly stated the caliber on the back which were different. They needed a forensics lab to read.

Spoilers
Damn, didn’t care for the ending. Felt like he should have ended his life to be with Caleb or atleast stayed in the park with him

The most irritating things were Turner's tracking skills
I liked the show overall, but this wasn't the main thing that bugged me.
Bana & Mcquire in their hunting showoff, they covered a ton of ground yet stayed finding each other even before blood trail. Then Bana being far enough away to need the scope of his rifle to look, Mcquire shoots the rifle out of his hand and then Bana picks up his side arm and shoots across that same distance with pretty good accuracy
LA Ranger tracking them was also pretty "made for tv" lol.

2 episodes in and outside of Bana the acting is unbelievably bad.
Every scene without Bana feels like a Lifetime movie

are there any cop shows where the lead cop isn't a drunk who breaks all of the rules, can't get along with anyone else, has at least 1 failed marriage and tends to stay on the brink of suspension, termination or a breakdown?

One issue I have with the show is that they keep finding things in a few minutes that should take months or years (or never even at all). It's a gigantic national park, and they just walk up on key evidence daily.

I'm not saying she checks none of these boxes but the main lady from unforgotten is pretty different from your normal cop lead.

It's not new or anything but I enjoyed it. It's British, if that matters.

Doesn't really matter. Although the right side driver thing throws me off a lot of time.
