Looking at your avatar pic makes me laugh. A girl I knew from school moved to Dallas in December of 1983. Within a month she was dating a guy named J.R.

It was embarrassing to introduce them to friends an say, "This is Terri and J.R."

Everyone made a J.R. Ewing comment. I mean everyone.

If we ever do a "TV Shows We Agree Don't Suck: 80's Edition," it won't be difficult to guess what my number one pick will be.

How about just an all time TV's shows list?

I'd be hard pressed to come up with 20 show's I've watched in 1 decade except for maybe the 80's

Make a new thread that points people in the direction of the sticky. I hardly ever read stickied threads b/c they are usually from the admins.

Yeah I suggested as much early on. Seems there are a lot of people who don't pay attention to any sticky thread at all.

That and we did kinda let this thread partially devolve into one of those IM threads.

4. Breakfast Club, The
5. Empire Strikes Back, The
6. Ferris Bueller's Day Off
7. Firestarter
8. Ghostbusters
9. Golden Child, The
10. Highlander
11. Less Than Zero
12. Lost Boys
13. National Lampoon's Vacation
14. Outsiders
15. Predator
16. Princess bride, The
17. Raiders Of The Lost Ark
18. Raising Arizona

21. Stand By Me
22. Tron
23. Twilight Zone: The Movie
24. Untouchables
25. Wall Street
26. Weird Science

this was really hard. i narrowed it down to 80 movies. i looked at those and deleted any movie that i wouldn't turn on right now and watch. then i deleted any of the kids movies like neverending story, goonies, karate kid, dark crystal, etc. then i alphabetized them. there's no way i could order them past like the top 5. i left some honorable mentions because it was just too hard for me to totally delete them.

sorry, i didn't know what else to do. i love those movies, and i've bought and shared them my children but i had to get to 20. i had a list of 40 that i was pretty happy with. i mean 20?!?!? even casey kasem does a top 40

eta: i'm keeping my paperwork on this list in case the rules change and it does get bumped up to something reasonable like 40.

i personally think we should have expanded to 40 for the 80s, but i have no clout around this place.

Didn't scratch my 80s list, but I think the first movie would probably make my 70s list ... actually, I can't say that definitively since the 70s was such a fertile decade for cinema.
