2001 obviously more acclaimed, but this was a really good sci fi movie.

Scotland, PA - updated Macbeth tale. Christopher Walken is fantastic as the detective.

War of the Arrows - South Korean historical piece with a guy rescuing his sister from Manchurian raiders. It is a non-stop action flick.

With the recent passing of Mark Margolis, Defiance(2008) is another film I feel fits this category.

The Last Boy Scout is a great movie, but probably not quite up to Die Hard level. I put it in a group with The Long Kiss Goodnight and Ricochet as movies that were great for their time, so-close to being eternal classics but for some reason you can’t quite put your finger on, just missed.

Man, I love Fear of a Black Hat. I think it's the superior rap mockumentary to Chris Rock's CB4

Peter Capaldi as the insanely swearing Malcom Tucker is one of the greatest performances ever.

I’m assuming you’ve seen The Thick of It?

Not one, but two Fear of a Black Hat references in one day. Awesome! I threw up a reference in the Straight outta Compton thread and expected silence.

Fear of a Black Hat is a great satire for that time in the rap industry. It came out in 1993 and captured the moment perfectly.

Oh, yes, bought it on DVD after seeing In the Loop. Great series.
