Yeah, if someone doesn't like Sweet Tooth it's definitely not a show for them.
At any rate, enjoyed the first season quite a bit back when it came out, and finally got around to watching this season this weekend. I'd echo what people have been saying that the first couple were a little off, just once they get to the tournament I think it's quite good again. Hopefully it keeps up the rest of the way.

Season 1 is good. Season 2 suddenly turned far away from twisted metal and leaned heavily into twisted sister. Every character is gay it seems. They even made sweet tooth into a flaming diva. It’s just…terrible. Truly terrible. Give me less of this gay shite and more twisted metal black. Hell, with that game, all you had to do was recreate the tone and stories and you’d have a hit. So damn lame the direction they took with this “woman power” lesbian convent to gay dudes with a baby to…Hell, they even made Grimm lame.

It’s so bad the showrunners even ran off Neve Campbell as Raven. I mean…what the actual frick. Why be a showrunner for a game and then not use any of the content fr the game? They treat the material as if it’s a joke not with any seriousness at all and the characters that are serious don’t exist in the game at all. They use the game and its characters as window dressings to tell whatever weird woman power, gay/lesbian, etc. lifestyle they wanted to explore. No need to ruin a franchise with that crap, just tell your own damn story. Then when you see the showrunner you realize, oh, yeah, this is why it’s gay and lame. He’s like a bearded Tobias Funke.

Neve Campbell didn't come back due to budget restrictions and the production moving to Canada. Campbell was never going to show up in the majority of episodes and be part of the driving action. They paid her in the first season of roughly 30 combined minutes of screen time.

The gay dudes who are raising a demon baby. The coven of lesbo “girl power” mask wearers. The gay kingpin you are forced to watch get sucked off. The list goes on and on. Did you watch the second season? It has less to do with twisted metal than the first and more to do with whatever proclivities the showrunner chose to inject. It’s selfish and the end product is shitty. Doing a small dive in to who the show runner is and it’s clear to see why he took that direction. They had ample material and chose to remove the gritty nature of the show and instead go with a lame comedy. They added characters that aren’t in the game as well. They pissed all over the source material for the sake of adding homosexuality and girl power. frick that shite.

2nd season started slow but I thoroughly enjoyed the second half. Once the tournament started, it really picked up.
