I agree with you in principle (since as a whole, MTV is worthless), but sometiems the True Life shows are glorious.
I still have never seen the fat camp one. Or the Tony Brown one.

Back when Tony Brown aired, I didn't really ever watch this show. And that's one that they really haven't replayed too much. The couple times I could have DVR'd it (like when someone posted on here that it was coming on that day), it was already too late since I was at work. shite, it took me forever to record the Jersey Shore one too (though I had seen it).
I randomly check my DVR every now and then to see if either of those tweo will replay, but they never do.

You underestimate the power that this kind of addiction has on individuals and the consequences that often come with it. This is by far one of the least publicized addictions but I've known plenty of people whose lives have been ruined, marriages ruined, lost jobs, etc... because of this stuff.
I know this board is full of people who think its just harmless, but it does put forth a distorted view of intimacy, love, sex and relationships and especially the self worth and dignity of women.
These things are well researched and undisputable facts.
I don't blame a woman for demanding that her husband get rid of that stuff. How far gone are you if you are choosing a make believe world over your wife?

I like to watch porn to get a nut and then move on. People that like to sit there and watch porn with no special intent other than watching porn are weird to me. Those are the people that get bored with regular pron and eventually gravitate to shite/piss, animals, trannies or beating the frick out of each other videos.

This is very true. And what ends up happening in alot of cases, is you got a wife or gf that only puts one once maybe twice a month if that. What else is the average guy going to do. They will go beat off. And at some point, it evolves into an addiction if the wife doesn't take care of it. And believe it or not, alot of wives/gf's consider beating off to porn cheating. They see no difference.

I look at beating differnty. You can beat it without porn and be done in 2 minutes and move on with your day. Its like mowing the grass or taking out the trash. Lingering over the computer looking at depraved acts for hours at a time leads to all kinds of bad consequences. It takes over your mind. Its no longer about a physical release. Like supa said, people start watching topless girls and then before they know it they are engulfed in the sickest kind of stuff available with animals, violence and all other kind of sickness.

I'm like supa, I use porn for one reason. That's not to say I haven't just watched a porn before, but it's very few and far between, and most of the time, it's been with friends so we can laugh at it (or on road trips).
I have a shite ton of porn, but I'm nowhere near addicted to it. My last gf though, she wasn't pleased with the amount that I had, and used to tell me I was addicted. But she always looked at things in fricked up ways. I'd never "choose" porn over basically anything (or anyone) in my life. I do see how some people do thoguh. Like someone said, it is most likely a gradual thing that snowballs (no pun intended) into something bigger. The thing is though, I don't see how people with wives/families can let it get to that point. I mean, who sits around and just watches taht shite all the time? Or misses job interviews because of it?
The one dude on the show was hilarious though. He tried to go out and meet chicks, and when he creeped them out, he was like "frick them hoes...they ain't worth my time anyway."

Coke and SFP, who is Tony Brown? I don't remember that name, but if I can learn a little bit more about his True Life episode, then it might ring a bell. While Fat Camp was alright, I always thought that the Tommy Cheeseballs episode on the Jersey Shore, the three Staten Island chicks, and the Anger Management episode were great.
The one about the kid from the Southeast Asian refugee camp was just interesting and informative.

Kracka, do you think it is reasonable for a woman to expect her husband to never look at porn and to never masturbate? In other words, the only sexual relations that the poor guy is allowed is when his wife feels inclined to sleep with him?
The fat guy just seemed like the product of a crazy, bullying wife. He looked at porn for 10 minutes after not looking at any porn for 2 weeks, and then he was off to a sexual addiction camp so she would let him back into the house...potentially.
