Exactly. This dude was a deep undercover narc for years. Nobody here can come close to imagining the twisted shite that has shaped his worldview and his mannerisms in speach and actions. For somebody to think they know how this character "should be" or that it's unrealistic is laughable.

I think so too. Sometimes truth is far stranger than fiction. Those of us old enough to remember the Jimmy Swaggart & Reverend Gorman scandal (plus Edwin Edward's political career) may already see the handwriting on the wall.

Ole Jimmy started out preaching from the back of flat bed trailers and doing tent revivals. When he finally hit it big, he struck out against his main competitor, Rev Gorman saying he had affairs with female followers (and was soliciting large contributions).

Gorman retaliated, had Swaggart followed and found him in a no-tell motel with a prostitute on Airline Hwy. Swaggart of course did his famous "I have sinned" confession and proceeded to get caught with another hooker 3 years later. I hope they bring our most famous governor into the picture as well.

So far all the victims have been down on their luck prostitutes and children. I think the children may somehow have a link to small evangelical churches and schools.

have you guys watched all the trailers on the True Det. youtube channel??? there are some interesting things in some of them if you freeze some of the frames. I have no idea where this thing is going

My download didn't have the preview for episode 4 so I just youtubed it. shite looks to be hitting the fan in a couple of weeks

There were 3 things painted on the walls of the burned out church;

1) Murals of sunny pretty things
2) bible verses
3) graffiti of the crime scene.

The children of the congregation painted the Murals of sunny and pretty things.

Now, why did Rust ask who painted those? Perhaps he noticed something linked between the murals and the graffiti. Perhaps it was done with the same paint, same techniques, brush strokes, etc....
