You are also correct here. Jesuit really isn't that bad. However, whatever high school you graduated from should ask for their diploma back.

Yes. If you don't mind answering, where did you go to school?
The reason I ask it because in Freshman English every student must pass a competency test. After five grammatical errors, you fail.
Read up on there/their usage.
And you would know this how?
I am sure some Jesuit students do just fine. I know of three who couldn't cope with college life.

The answer is Jesuit.
I think it's Jesuit also.
From 8th grade thru 12th grade (public schools), my son went to state rally every year. He won state in English twice, and once in Trig/Advanced Math. (You can only go in one subject per year, so he was only allowed to go in Math once.) I know he also placed 2nd and 3rd several times several times in other subjects.
He knew almost all of the other school's best competitors. Brother Martin always did well as did Ben Franklin. At that particular time many of their best students came from public middle schools like Rudolph Matas Elementary / Haynes Middle before attending Brother Martin.
My son took three semesters of Calculus at Tulane during his Junior and Senior years of High School. He thought he would get a Tulane scholarship by setting the curve in three consecutive Calculus classes. The test average was typically 50 and he would score 100+ (bonus questions).
When he got a scholarship to UNO and decided to live in the dorm, his first three roommates were all Jesuit National Merit Semi-Finalists. Every one of them got a 0.0 GPA in their first semester at college. You just can't make this shite up.
From what I gather, Jesuit spends quite a while preparing their students for college acceptance testing. Maybe they prepared their students to do well in the tests, but coddling kids really doesn't prepare them for the real world.

That's a VOIP landline in Reidsville, NC. Just drive around the trailer parks and look for confederate flags.
Why don't we recruit JC players?
Posted by Karnac on 11/22/15 at 4:31 pm
It seems obvious that Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Mississippi State recruit JC players to fill the in gaps in their lineups.

Nick Saban is only dressing 20 players for the game today.
The rest have to dress themselves.

There is testing going on now for a Balloon-in-a-pill technology. Instead of invasive surgery, you swallow a small balloon, inflate it, and achieve the same sense of fullness as lap-bands or gastric bypass. The procedure lasts a few months and can easily be undone.
If it's approved, it should be available in 2-3 years.

Depends on the stranger.

re: Deaf puppy - what to name and how to train?
Posted by Karnac on 10/21/15 at 9:51 pm to gingerkittie
Catahoulas are great dogs, but there are some things you should be aware of. Health wise, some Catahoulas may get hip dysplasia and suffer arthritis with pain due to limited hip motion. As you already found out, deafness and eye conditions are another condition they seem to inherit.
Training your dog is also going to be more problematic, but even more important since he can't hear. This is a breed that really needs to learn to accept their order in the pack. They can be very independent, territorial and protective. You have to be the Alpha leader, not the dog. (No, I'm not talking about OT wannabe slang.)
The easiest way to establish dominance would be to walk him on a leash and teach him to heel. It also gets rid of his excess energy. Most bad behavior in dogs is poor training by humans. Establish a good set of rules and eliminate confusion and your dog will be fine.

re: Saw Jackson Brown last night - didn't play Stay!

So, out of curiosity, was Rosemary Butler singing backup for Jackson Browne, and was David Lindley the guitarist? On the live version, she does the solo vocal in Stay, and Lindley sings the falsetto solo.

As I understand it, the French for grocery shopping involves the verb for "to make/to do" which is fare in Italian, and hacer in Spanish. Whatever it is in French, it likely to be part of the colloquial phrase in said language.

The expression derives from the French faire son marché, “to do one’s market shopping," faire translating either "to do" or "to make."

Here's an interview with Gobi Analytical, the lab that tests for pesticides on Colorado marijuana.
Gobi Analytical
A few points:
The highest levels of pesticide were found in Wax. (The contaminants get concentrated as well.)
Growing marijuana indoors seems to let pesticide stay on the plants longer than outdoor growth. A lot of this depends on when they stop using pesticide during the growth cycle.
These pesticides were approved for food, but not tobacco. Consumption of the same wax/MJ in edibles usually wouldn't be an issue. Still, some of the samples they tested exceed the limits for both food and tobacco. (That's why they test them.)
In general, I don't understand why people (especially medical users) think smoking anything would be considered safe. This could easily affect every state that has legalized medical marijuana.
