The show is doing entirely too much. It cares entirely too much about things outside of the scoop of the case, which is about the only real connective tissue it has with True Detective outside of the forced references.
It might have worked as a movie.

His son seemed awfully comfortable killing Dad and cleaning up that scene.
Possible Theory: I think the son may be the one that killed Annie K and Dad helped move the body.

Yep, I think it’s part of the reason the kid has been doing the actual leg work on the investigation and been so ok leaving his family at the drop of a hat. Trying to make sure the light doesn’t shine on him. Dad let a little too much slip.

Honestly thought this was the weakest episode and I’ve been decently invested up to this point. Characters just all suck and it’s kind of boring.
Too much random shite happening that doesn’t really directly relate to the only compelling part of the show, which is what were these guys so afraid of that caused these guys to run out of this facility and freeze to death?
Clearly they were trying to reanimate Annie/Anne, but god the burial of the sister and the protest just isn’t very compelling. I really wanted to like this but it’s just so underwhelming.

Another terribly boring episode with a hackneyed attempt at drama and a twist. This show is such a slog and it’s so all over the place. I actually thought the acting this episode was the worst thus far.
