I'm already preparing myself for the disappointing thud that all the supernatural shite is just toxins from the mine making everyone loopy and causing mass hallucinations.

I think we're going to get both. Anchorage will come in and declare mass hysteria/hallucination due to contaminated ground water (a la Salem, Mass), but the townsfolk will all know/believe that the spirits were moving through all of this.

There will be no resolution.

Don’t care what they look like the show just sucks. S1 and even S2 showed how these investigations effect and sometimes destroy these detectives lives no matter what type of person they were plus the murders themselves were very interesting. This season it’s all about these strong women, their personal BS and in the background there’s a murder investigation which is really just an avenue to show how virtuous Navarro is and how tough and smart Danvers is. All they have to do is figure out a way to combine their masculine and virtuous female super powers then not even supernatural forces, men or evil energy production will be able to stop them.

S4 showrunner Issa López responded to his comments:

“I believe that every storyteller has a very specific, peculiar, and unique relation to the stories they create, and whatever his reactions are, he’s entitled to them ... I wrote this with profound love for the work he made and love for the people that loved it. And it is a reinvention, and it is different"

Standing on other peoples shoulders and upset that nobody is calling her tall. This has happened with every single popular IP in the past few years.

I think she handled that pretty well given that her work was disrespected by a person she obviously admired beforehand. This season may not be that great, but Pizzolatto has wrote some crap stuff and is pretty much a one hit wonder. Outside of season one, the best writing he’s done is the very original… The Magnificent Seven.

Her work is being disrespected? Wow, what an inverted view of reality.

??

She answered the question she was asked. She said the creator was entitled to his opinion. The creator who it says took an executive producer credit on this. Good for him for standing up for the quality of his art when it really counts, right? Where does she sound upset?

Episode 1 discussion I commented that few would stick with this but for it being called "True Detective". Nobody likes their art being Ben Stiller in There's Something About Mary:

Piggyback!

This season is marred by narcissists projecting their self proclaimed greatness, rather than giving us a good & compelling story.

Those lacking in genuine talent should not be allowed to squander resources.

If you've listened to Lopez speak about it, you can tell how the final product came to be.

I mean he called what she wrote stupid. Yea, that’s pretty disrespectful How could you not understand that? Hell he may be right and she is getting views based off season one, but it doesn’t mean that what he said wasn't pretty petty on his part. You don’t really hear writers/directors calling their peers work stupid very often.

My thoughts after the first 3 episodes are:

Could easily be called whore Island.
Was surprised the butch cop liked the D.
JF knows a lot of science facts for a low level detective in the middle of nowhere.

You know who actually got views based solely on season 1, even though the quality of the product was questionable at best...

I liked this show better when it had vampires and was called 30 Days of Night.

Also Letterkenny managed to find some attractive native actresses.

I will finish the show only because I’m a weirdo completionist and there are only 3 more episodes.
