I want to agree with you but who else would tie the oldest daughter to it? There were too many signs of sexual abuse for a child, for the mother to overlook. Marty is blind to everything not directly involving him but the mother isn't.

You see all the time women who are in denial of their children being abused by boyfriends/family members/husbands so I'm not sure I buy her involvement. Her denial? Sure, but not her involvement.

Really didn't think Cohle would go through with it, but at least old boy recognized the error of his way immediately. Kind of disappointed that Tuttle and company are the guilty party, but this just proves the adage that the plot of a movie/show/book isn't always as important as the journey. And you better believe that this show is the Michael Jordan of being a thrillride.
