So you think Errol had a gun but decided to attack Rust and Marty with a hammer?
Was there a shot? I just heard the dog squeal, and it seemed odd that if he shot it how he was all the way across the meadow.
ETA: I saw the hatchet post above. Still, he sure moved fast after killing the pup.

Whathappened to the powerful big men, the yellow king, corrupt police altering files, anti-Christian task force angles?
The cult is bigger than just the guys Marty and Rust killed....I think. There are other bad guys still out there, but they solved Dora Lange's murder...Rust is bothered by it, Marty feels like they did what they set out to do...I think.
Is the Yellow King the blonde guy that was with the meth cook?Did they say who the Yellow King was? Are we supposed to know who was the dead guy in Errol's guest house? Again, did they say, and I missed it? Marty's daughter was totally molested, right? Is that completely glossed over?
How do you think a cult recruits a serial killer, a meth cook, a leader of a church, etc...all into the same organization? And how do they decide who's place they're goin to do the killin at?
Great show, but I really need to watch it from beginning to end again.

Know way to know if it was a rape scene. Weren't the girls discussing a car wreck when Marty walked to the door?
The girl is on the ground getting banged with men watching?
How did she learn this and the picture on the wall of left on all the victims body's? If these were coincidences then just wow?

yeah i mean if marty's daughter wasn't raped by the cult, then that opens up 1000 more questions

No there wasn't a shot. If he had a gun it doesn't make sense for him to attack Rust and Marty with the hammer/hatchet in the old fort. He would have just shot them. He hit it with the hammer/hatchet to keep it from giving away where he was but when it cried out he ran.

if i had told them after episode 1 that the cult angle went nowhere and was not resolve, nobody would have kept watching
Not me...these characters had me hooked from the first episode...I wouldnt care if Marty and Rust were investigating a food truck robbery or something simple and stupid...as long as they were involved I was watching.

pretty much agree with what youve had to say. ive called the disappointment since episode 2 and was murdered for it. maybe some like this type of show. but i really didnt get a lot out of it. if they decided to introduce so much surrounding the tuttles a cult and leave it alone, the series couldve been done in 3 episodes then.
it was an alright show. people blew their loads way too hard over it though.

That makes sense. He was speedy though.

Do we know for sure a Childress was a guard? How is that known?
Rusty asked for the file on the 2 cops and I could swear one was a Childress.

i read the fricking threads where they discussed the episodes and that's pretty much all that was discussed
Well yea. That's the easiest part to discuss. Most people aren't going to spend 50 pages psychoanalyzing a character. They are going to discuss the "case" in a detective show. That doesn't mean the characters development is less interesting or less enjoyable, just that it isn't as much fun to talk about.

He was surprisingly agile when he attacked them. He also took Marty's shot to the shoulder like a boss.

No crap, I thought he was a zombie until Rust blew his brains out.

There was a naked doll laying on the ground, surrounded by clothed spectators. The girls were discussing a car accident. It was supposed to look like something to the viewer, but it doesn't mean it was. It's called misdirection.

exactly
if it's about bromance, like 80% of the show was absolutely wasted

i actually did this after episode 1 b/c rust is so unbelievable it took away from the show
rust and marty are flat characters. they're not really that complex. there isn't much to psychoanalyze, and it was repeated for 8 episodes. don't try to turn this into a complexity argument when that clearly fails

what development, exactly?

you could probably watch episode 1, 2 and 8 and get the entire story

i've read almost all of the threads for ep2 and ep5 tonight, in fact.
they kept moving the goalposts and refused to give up the hope they had after episode 1
it's been a fascinating sociological examination in real time.
The issue you are having is assuming everyone watched for the same reason you did, and experienced the story in the same way you did. Of course there are theories discussed in threads. What else are you going to talk about?

This reaction reminds of what happened with LOST except they didn't drag it out for 5 more seasons.

It's far more difficult to articulate than wild theories of whodunnit. I've been trying to decide if I even want to try to think of how to explain exactly what I think about it. Maybe another time.
