I haven't heard it mentioned but I think that the king's gay lover is the one who killed Eric's family and stole the crown. He mentions being turned 700 years ago or something along those lines.

Eric is around 1,000 years old. Conviently the time period that the Vikings had the most power.

This seems obvious. His acting was poor on purpose. He was pretending to be enchanted with the king AND Plus his desire for Sookie became secondary only when he discovered who the king really was. Before that he was getting betrayed by the queen and still had sookie as #1 priority. Now all rules are out the window and I'm guessing he will risk it all for a shot at the king. He's pretty bad arse though, he laughed when bill tried to attack him and said he was 3000 years old.

Her Grandfather that she said also had powers like her, is a fairy in the books. A sky fairy..
Though the TV series loosely follows each book in order, it doesn't mean they have too.

Agreed. Not sure why she bashed his head in instead of staking him or atleast staking him after bashing his head in.

In Tara's defense, I don't think she went to Vampire school 101 in knowing to chop off the head, she just wanted to get the frick away from the creepy MF'er and find Sookie and get the frick out of there! LOL
