I have no interest in giving those two any viewership. If I were Netflix, I'd be trying to bury the fact that D&D worked on this
Absolutely.
The book is massive in scope. Why Netflix would assign these two dipshits to handle a very ambitious adaptation is well beyond me.

Read the trilogy over the summer and it’s now my favorite series ever. It’s going to be hard to put to screen, though.
This is my worry. Really cool elements of a story that may be difficult to properly adapt to the screen - such as the V-suit simulations.
I can see this being a show where people grow impatient with waiting to find out WTF is going on. D&D better have figured out a way to keep people engaged.

They were almost flawless on GoT til they ran out of source material. I hated them for the ending, but the book material on screen was some of the best TV made.
On one hand I am so excited as these books should be visually stunning on the big screen. The concepts are so well thought out, and CGI will help that "narrative".
Probably my biggest concern is how controlling yet incompetent they made the Chinese govt look in first book and how relevant that is to the setup. I just don't see that happening in this show, as it seems they have such a firm grasp on our entertainment/media these days.
2nd concern is people being mostly too dumb to understand the concepts.

The books are awesome. The story is actually really interesting, I hope this ends up being good.

Yeah the scenes are pretty whacky. I'm curious how they do it.

I want the Netflix series to be good, but I don't think the books will translate well to a western TV series.
I'm curious how it will compare to the Chinese version that came out last year and is on Prime with subtitles.

1st book was boring as hell. Never made it through. Characters were bland and seemed like going through a repeat of the same version of events (ie trial and error) over and over was the bulk of the book.

I haven't watched the Chinese version, but based on that trailer - other than the shitty CGI - it looks lightyears better than the Netflix one.

I've read the trilogy, the storyline and concept is great.
My problem with the books is that it didn't really make you care about any of the characters. I think it's because it was written by a Chinese author and translated. There was just no depth or complexity in 99% of the characters.
Hopefully the show fixes that while staying true to the story itself.
I agree with this assessment. The concept of the trilogy was interesting, but I never developed a deep need to follow any of the characters.

The title is literally "the 3 Body Problem"
I am not sure what you expected.
