It's not those values. People don't really disagree with that. The problem is when you destroy the flow and depth of a story to force these issues to the forefront when there is no need.

SPOILERS
ALL of the heroic moments in the movie happen thanks to women. Rose's sister sets off the bombs (hero).
Holdo crashes the ship into the huge one sacrificing herself in the process (hero).
Rose sets the god damn mutant horses free. "Hero"
Then at the end Rey lifts all the rocks and saves the Resistance/Rebellion (hero)
