Even though it's one of the most well known classic movies I'm kinda surprised Casablanca came in that high, pleasantly surprised.

4 may be a bit high for it, even though I voted for it (somewhere in the 20s for me).

I think I know what they are. One I'm not shocked made it here and the other I am somewhat pleasantly even if it didn't make my list. It's still a fantastic movie, but not one of my 40 favorites.

Yea I think I got em too.

I think goodfellas is good for sure, I don't really know how you couldn't like it. But it wasn't in my top 40. Dont remember it getting that much love in the other mwads.

I'm pretty sure it was top 10 last time. Some nice surprises in this list.

A lot have made jumps really. I just counted the number of 2000 films that made it, and Wall-e was #14 out of them, when it only got #98 on the 2000s list.

So, that's the list. Really surprised the Seven Samurai made it so high, since I thought it would be alot like City Lights and be snubbed.

Well, here was my ballot, and highlighted were the ones that didn't make it:

quote:

1) The Lord of the Rings (2001-2003)
2) Pan's Labyrinth
3) Schindler's List
4) The Empire Strikes Back
5) Princess Mononoke
6) A Clockwork Orange
7) Almost Famous
8) Lawrence of Arabia
9) Inglourious Basterds
10) The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
11) WALL-E
12) The Truman Show
13) Spirited Away
14) Lost in Translation
15) 2001: A Space Odyssey
16) Toy Story 3
17) Star Wars
18) One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
19) The Shawshank Redemption
20) Goodfellas
21) Blazing Saddles
22) Eternal Sunshine for the Spotless Mind
23) Pulp Fiction
24) The Big Lebowski
25) Groundhog Day
26) Up!
27) The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996)
28) Terminator 2
29) E.T.: The Extraterrestrial
30) The Godfather Parts 1&2
31) Raging Bull
32) The Shining
33) Chinatown
34) Kill Bill
35) Beauty and the Beast (1991)
36) Saving Private Ryan
37) No Country for Old Men
38) North By Northwest
39) Young Frankenstein
40) Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail

So only 3 of mine didn't make it, two of them Disney films. Really surprised the Shining didn't make the list honestly, and never really expected the other two and honestly a few more to make the Top 200, so I was pleasantly surprised.

I would have liked it if Godfather I & II were separated, but I have no problem with them at the top.
