my top 4 are (in no particular order):

Top Gun
Vanilla Sky
A Few Good Men
Mission Impossible (the first one, i love this movie)

i cant pick a fifth because there are probably ten or fifteen more that fall just under these top tier ones for me.

#1 Valkyrie (when he tried to take out Hitler)
#2 Cocktail (he had every man wanting to franchise the bar concept)
#3 Far and Away (Costner should have starred in this)

i like all three of these (havent seen Knight and Day or The Mummy).

why didnt you like Valkyrie? he even looks like the real life Claus von Stauffenberg (not that that makes the movie better or anything).

Yea not a fan of this one either. The back and forth from the Germans speaking German to them understanding Tom Cruise and Co. in English and I guess just pretending he's speaking German. So dumb.

#5 The Mummy (how dare he take over from Brendan Fraser)

The continuity director for Cocktail should've been fired.
Tom's hair length changed from scene to scene.

Tough to keep to 5. In no order I'll say:

Collateral
Tropic Thunder
Top Gun
A Few Good Men
Born on the 4th of July

Honorable mentions to The Last Samurai and Rain Man.

Happy to see some other people like this movie too. I know it's not that highly regarded but its one of the most rewatchable movies for me. Cruise and Duval are perfect together. I even like Jack Reacher, just to watch them on screen together.

I'd argue Vanilla Sky is his most underrated.

I might argue Oblivion.
