Jimmy turns the page on his reputation; Lalo tracks a loose end in Gus' operation; Mike is forced to make a difficult decision.

They anchored the other one

I'm hoping we get some backstory on Lyle.

Some high school kid getting held hostage for a day in his own store and he's still there a year later. That's one loyal employee...anybody else would have been off to Baskin Robbins or someplace else with some female talent months ago, rather than dealing with that shite. Did Gus even offer him a raise?

He has to be a Salamanca plant.

When does Tuco get out? I don’t imagine we will get him this season but I wonder if he will appear next season? Or does he only take over because Lalo dies?

Has the running length of this show been announced? Vince had BB on a deliberate timeline and finished in five seasons. Here we are with four seasons of BCS and I'm wondering how this will wrap up. When Walt comes into the picture, I figure there will be a fast forward to Saul in hiding, then he gets whacked to end the show.

Don't get me wrong, I'm loving this series, but it seems odd to me if Vince doesn't have a clear direction on completing the story that's similar to BB. I really hope AMC is not treating this show like TWD soap opera.

The actor didn't want to play that role anymore, so I wouldn't expect to see him again unless you rewatch Breaking Bad.

Yeah, there's a reason we only get 5 minutes of Gene at a time. He doesn't do a whole hell of a lot.

The Gene side of the story can be wrapped up pretty quick once we get to it. Just like they didn't devote a ton of time to Walter in hiding.

No. There is a chance next season, which already has a green light, is the final season. It is also possible that BCS runs longer than BB.

Gould and Gilligan are on record saying that the transition to Saul was anticipated to be much quicker than what has actually occurred. I guess it all depends upon what they have planned for next season.

I have a suspicion that we may get a wrap with next season. With a full blown conversion to Saul, a resolution of Gene, etc. For that to happen there would need to be a quicker pace and additional time jumps likely. Or maybe the season could be extended beyond the typical 10 episodes.

Then you have the question whether they want to do a second spinoff show of this universe. And what would that be. Gilligan likes the Kim angle as a possibility. Not sure whether that could be a stand alone show but people poo pooed BCS before seeing it as well. If they truly want to do a third series, then I say season 5 is more likely to be the final season of BCS in some form or another.

But certainly nothing has been decided based upon what is known right now.

Yes it could. But they could easily expand upon that a good bit depending upon when the Gene scenes actually are occurring. Gilligan has said there is potential for them to explore more story telling there and he is a personally a fan of finding out more about Gene. I think we will definitely get more dedicated Gene era plot - possibly entire episodes related to Gene next season.

quote:

“Well I think what is happening is what needs to be next. The sad thing is my character is turning into Saul Goodman and he is an awful guy. I know it is fun to watch for all of you, but he is a snake and we are saying goodbye to this really sweet guy so I guess what is next is more tragedy,” the 55-year-old actor explained to us at the HBO Emmy party.

“And then we will see what is after the world of Breaking Bad, which I think is very compelling to me as a fan of both of these shows. What is the wreckage after? We will get to see this guy Gene, Jimmy, Saul and then he is Gene so maybe we will seek him after Breaking Bad,” he continues
.

Yeah, I think BCS is definitely going longer than five seasons. It has been a slow build and we're just getting to Saul. No chance next season is the last.

BB had it publicly known that season five was the finale at least a year prior.

Well here’s your quotes (albeit from last year)

LINK

quote:

Should AMC decide to order another spinoff in the franchise, it turns out that Gilligan has a clear preference for which Saul character he would like to see get their own show. While some fans might be quick to suggest someone like Mike, Gus, or Chuck, Gilligan tells The Sydney Morning Herald that if he does another series within this universe, he would want it to center on Kim Wexler, intrepid lawyer and Jimmy McGill's ongoing love interest. Here's his reasoning as to why:

"I gotta tell you, Kim Wexler. She can be hilariously funny, she can be absolutely moving. She can do anything, she just has this astounding range. Personally, as one of the first two fans of Better Call Saul, I want to know more about Kim, I want to see and learn more about her. If we were to do another spin-off it would be the Kim Wexler show."

I would be out for a Kim storyline. At some point, it doesn’t matter how well acted and written the story is if it’s just not an interesting story.

I honestly don’t know if AMC would go for it. I love BCS, but it’s ratings are pretty awful. I have to think a Kim series would be considerably worse. I’m not sure if goodwill towards Gilligan/Gould would be enough to get them to greenlight a series that would only be watched by critics.

If they do another show, I would like one set in the universe but with completely different characters, and post BB. Heisenberg can be a househould name all over the country, but different characters, different premise, different setting.
