Thief

A much better version of Drive. But I'm a sucker for an 80s movie with a Tangerine Dream score.

I just got done watching this a few minutes ago.

What an awesome movie. Too bad Hollywood sucks balls now. We will never get another movie like that, this.

Here's the link I used. It played perfectly. No ads or anything. I am using Mac.

I bought the 4K edition from Kino Lorber. If you love this movie I HIGHLY recommend! Even if you don't have a 4K player it comes with a blu ray disc of the film as well.

Now hopefully Manhunter gets a 4K treatment (would look visually stunning) but I heard that Michael Mann is difficult to work with when it comes to remastering his movies.

Great movie. Don’t think I’ve seen it since Blockbuster closed.

There is a lot to love about this movie but there is also some 80s cheesiness. I think that it could be updated -saving the best parts and rehabbing some of bad parts. Studios may never touch it but if done right I think it would still find a significant audience

Shame this movie is out of print at the moment. I would like to one day add this to my blu ray collection.

The 4k just came out in July I think.

No problem. You're welcome. Hope it works for you.

I tried to watch another movie on that same site yesterday and it buffered every 30 seconds.

I'm a huge fan of 80's cheesiness movies.

If they remade it and kept it word for word, scene for scene with no added alphabet community or any other politics, I'd be good with that.

Archive download/stream

Always check the archive. They have so much uploaded. Also, wikipedia has some interesting production stuff. Haven't watched this upload so can't vouch for quality since I dl mostly.

Wikipedia article on the film.

Always liked him in Gunshy (1998) with Diane Lane. (in addition to his other roles)

The first time I saw Willem Dafoe in a movie.

second for me after Streets of Fire the previous year (along with a crisp 19 yr old Diane Lane) , then he followed both up the next year with Platoon.

after that I was in for any movie he was in

Got it on record. Thanks man. First time to watch in 40 years. Can’t believe’84 was almost forty years ago. That doesn’t even register.
