I actually really like the plot of AOTC up until Kenobi goes to Kamino and Anakin goes to Naboo. The movie looks terrible due to the egregious bad CGI all over the place and wooden acting of Hayden Christianson, but there's a really cool and interesting plot going on.
Then....it goes off the rails. The Clone Battle looked really cool, but Clones v. Robots just doesn't move the emotional needle for me. Plus, why was no one but Obi Wan questioning where that Clone Army came from? Why did Obi-Wan just drop the issue after the battle on Geonosis? I mean, where was the money coming from to pay for that army starting years and years before the current conflict? Why wasn't anyone asking that? It's not like these troops were drafted following the onset of a war, they just happened to have been ordered to be created YEARS before the conflict started and just happened to be available to jump right in and save the day? NO ONE in the Senate questioned that?

A lot of thing piss me off about TLJ much more than Attack of the Clones. My only real complaint with Attack of the Clones (and the prequels in general) is the atrocious dialogue.
The entire premise of TLJ is flawed and the characters are all terrible.

I really feel these videos should be required viewing in school.

How Darth Vader's entire character was ruined? How Yoda was ruined? How the jedi order was ruined? How Obi Wan Kenobi was ruined?
Every single thing that AoTC touched, died.

Yep. The green screening everything was a bit much, and I definitely don't think they did a good job with the overall story and portraying Anakin's abilities and his temptations outsie of Ep. 3, but really the killer of those moveies, especially 1 & 2, is the dialogue. Just so bad.

I yet to own this movie. Probably never will.
I wonder what the rate of repeat viewing was compared to Avengers . . .

quote:And after he did all that, and did everything in his power to keep it from happening again, he found out his own nephew and protege was on the verge of repeating history despite Luke's guidance.
This is after Vader had murdered untold multitudes. He even killed, or had killed, the only parents Luke had ever known. . .the greatest mentor in his life. . .and chopped his hand off.
So I just don't find it unreasonable for even Luke himself to have a moment of weakness when presented with the likelihood that the Kylo would repeat history even if that also meant he would too return back to the light.
Now even though I tried to avoid any details of the outrage, I knew that people were upset about something regarding Luke's character. So I went into it thinking he was the one who destroyed the Jedi Training center, and actually turned into his father. So when all it ended up being was Luke regretfully recalling a moment of weakness where he thought about getting rid of Kylo to prevent another Vader, it was almost a relief compared to the expectation.
So maybe my discrepant views are because I went in expecting things far worse than what happened. And when it didn't end up meeting those worst-case expectations, it seemed quite reasonable by comparison.

I don’t believe a word of your post. You are full of shite regarding no being able to point to specific reasons for how bad it was.

You are just a terrible poster in general with a leftist agenda that is very poorly conceiled.
Or the leftist agenda where you were ok with the Civil Asset Forfeiture and I find that to be unconstitutional?

Come on, man. It was a bad call by Rian. It not only flies in the face of all Luke stands for, it actually cheapens his entire character arc. It makes every pleading speech he made to Vader hollow and meaningless.
It was a shitty move, and it certainly ruined an iconic character.
Worse than Finn's character being slapped with a vag for his misogyny. . .and saving space horses, while leaving child slaves to go frick themselves.

Ugh I forgot how bad the dialogue was in the prequels.

Very true, ive never heard of anyone being young and idealistic only to get more jaded and grizzled as they age. Preposterous.

Watching Clones right now on TNT. I'd forgotten how totally worthless it is. "Just being around Padme. It's intoxicating." Jesus Christ, you suck.
But I'm not willing to spend another couple of hours comparing and contrasting TLJ because it more aggressively sucks and I just can't sit through it again.

The story is good, but you are all right, the dialogue is awful. I hate the love scenes on Naboo... and how they made Jango Fett go out like a bitch.

Really, if the prequels simply had less CGI then they’d be highly regarded. They just looked so fake, which affected the acting and intensified the criticism.
