i think if you TLJ-hating millennials stepped out of the group think for a minute, youd see that maybe it isnt as bad as you think. and maybe take off the nostalgia goggles and see the Prequels for the putrid turds they really are.

I hate to agree with the OP but he's correct. AOTC at least has some awesome scenes with Kenobi.

I thought TLJ was pretty entertaining. It was dumb and senseless and didn’t fit with TFA, but by itself it was entertaining.

It’s been a month since I last saw TLJ and I’m still pissed about what they did to Luke Skywalker.

Because of the reaction on here and across the internet, TLJ was the first Star Wars film that I didn't watch in the theaters since I was old enough to watch them (stating the The Phantom Menace). It was a tradition to go with my brother, and I just couldn't get myself to do it.

I finally got around to watching it a month ago, and I went in expecting it to be an Uwe Boll level bad all around, or since so many said it ruled the whole brand even their childhood, I was expecting something so exteme that it basically changed how one could view the previous movies (like Luke becoming Vader or finding out he's not even his son).

I went in expecting the worst, but since I refused to read these threads, I was expecting it to be a surprise and feel it just like the rest of you.

But after I watched it, I was surprised, but I was surprised because I couldn't figure out what it was. Since it wasn't Uwe Boll and just flat out poorly made, I figured I just have just missed a part of the movie. So I figured a Google search would clear that up. And while there were tons of articles about the backlash, none of them pinpointed it the reason, and even those critical of the film seemed confused as to go why the backlash was so severe.

So I wanted to comment in these threads and ask, but the posts (like this thread) were filled with so much universal anger as such a matter of fact, that I didn't want to ask stupid question as to why to a bunch angry people and I was sure EVENTUALLY someone would point it out.

But since it's bad the same old outraged post after another, and still just a matter of fact, I'm beginning to think this is some group-think, mass hysteria with a bunch of grown men acting like teenage girls reinforcing each other's increasingly irrational takes.

I know this will be down voted, but I picture you all like the lady screaming at the sky during Trump's inauguration, made more ridiculous by the fact that it's a movie.

What specific questions do you have for why it is bad?

There are MANY vids on youtube that explain the problems with TLJ.

Are you really telling me you can't figure out what's wrong with TLJ? If so you don't belong on the movie board. Let me just give a few examples. If you're still confused after that let me know and I will give you more.

1. We have waited 30 years to see how Luke has progressed as a Jedi and we find out he turned out to be a whiney little bitch that sits on a rock while his friends are in a battle.

2. Han is dead. Luke is Dead. The only person still alive is god damn Merry Poppins Leia who is actually fricking dead in real life.

3. Finn and and the token Asian whose name I don't even remember took up 1 fricking 3rd of the movie on a completely pointless subplot considering whatever the frick they were doing wasn't part of the true plan.

4. Poe started a damn mutiny just to make a point that men are toxic and sometimes women are smarter. After the mutiny is squashed the super smart lady claims she really likes that guy. WTF.

5. Snoke, if there is only supposed to be one master and one apprentice where the hell did Snoke come from once Vader and the Emporer died? Especially considering he should have been alive during that time period.

They broke the rules of Star Wars here which is okay if the writers come up with an interesting reason for the rules to be broken, but nope. They just killed him with zero explanation of how he came to be.

6. Rey, fricking Mary Sue. This bitch hasn't had five minutes of Jedi training, but that doesn't stop her from saving the day anytime the writers get to lazy to do their jobs.

7. fricking Hux. Compare him to Tarkin. Tarkin was a bad arse enemy. Smart competent. You know a real challenge for the heros to try and beat. Hux is nothing but an incompetent pissant. Our "heros" could simply give him a wedgie and he would be defeated.

8. God-damned Yoda lightning. Not even saying anything else about that bullshite.
