Lots of fun dinosaur and giant reptile adventure.
Give us more dinosaur movies. I’ll take all of them.
Tired so won’t make this a long post. Slow to start but once things get going, they don’t let up for most of the movie.
Some completely unnecessary things though that do detract. The relationship melodrama between McGreggor and Hathaway is not needed. And the weird romantic lesbian triangle/quadrangle is completely weird and shoehorned in.
But you want dinosaurs, you certainly get a lot of dinosaur action and that’s what I wanted so I am leaving satisfied

Is this the spoiler thread?
Was there more than just 2 Janettes? Trying to recall what else was in the last scene.

I'm glad my grandson decided on Spiderman.

There were two Jeanettes.
If you really think about it, the ending of this movie was incredibly fricked up.
She allowed the new universe’s version of her and her kids to be sent back and likely eaten while she stole the new universe’s Ewan mcgreggor

Thoughts? The thread started before this one on the same day was better. Oh well, guess everyone needs attention.

I always do this. Going back almost a decade. Not new

The time and wormhole stuff was too convenient for me. I knew something like that was gonna happen when dad got caught. I laughed at the boy missing literally everything except apparently that random kid’s bike spokes. I liked the nostalgia. Reminded me to make sure Steve Winwood found a way back into my playlist rotation.

Not too bad of a movie a few nice jump scares. Much more violent than I thought it would be.
As soon as she got in the pay phone I knew she was ordering pizza and it immediately hit me that she is about to ruin an alternate universe version of herself and kids.
My one issue with that is the Ewan that she ended up with did not go through the same things and learn the same lessons and doesn’t appreciate her nearly as much as the original one.
They are definitely going to need some counseling.
Also probably odd for New Ewan to see a picture of Old Ewan with dinosaurs and having no recollection of the events since he never lived them. In short Hathaway is emotionally attached to the Ewan that fought dinosaurs with her, not this new guy who’s probably still drinking whiskey in the garage.
Overall, I liked the movie and it gave me the same nostalgic feelings that Super 8 did… although I do believe Super 8 was a superior movie due to better child acting.

One of the worst movies I've seen in awhile

Ewan is portrayed as not being very smart. But very moral. I think the movie is trying to hint to us that he’s too stupid to realize what happens from a morality standpoint.
This is worse than in Wonder Woman 2 where they turn that one guy into Chris pine

I feel like he didn’t have to change as much as the wife did. Once she stopped being so cold, they connected pretty quickly.

I liked it
Ewan McGregor death was crazy and as others said the first thought I had after the movie was that Anne Hathaway left the other version of their family to die.

Pretty messed up to call the nerdy neighbor and not the other versions of themselves. I’m sure Ewan would have split time between families. Also, the possibility of two Anne Hathaways at the same time
That said, it might be my favorite dinosaur movie since The Lost World. Starbuck showing up at the end to save the boy was my favorite part. I’m glad he survived the movie.

What did I like about this movie? I got to help out a locally owned theater, for one. And it was a decent crowd too. Not Spider-Man full, but I'd say 2/3 or so.
And sure, if you want to get out of the heat and see dinosaurs, it's got that going for it. More on that below.
But the movie itself is trash. Clearly riding the Stranger Things coattails. Not so subtle songs and lyrics sung by the daughter - we get it, she's a LESBIAN! OK!. They did exist in the 80's.
Anne and Ewin play terrible characters. He more so, as the most pathetic puss of a husband he could be, and no wonder his son follows his lead. Not enough testosterone in the both of them to fuel a matchbox car. The only male identifying member of the family was the dog.
If you're gonna have your 13 yr old BOY carry around a bow & arrow, and seriously use it against dinosaurs, at LEAST make it look legit. Not some Playskool set that could barely break the skin of a human, let alone that of an armored - thick skinned multi ton beast.
Do you? Really?
There's a list of things I didn't care for in this movie, but the amount of mega fauna packed into this 2 mile radius (or whatever it was) would only exist at the San Diego Zoo. And nope, a stegosaur isn't going to be in the same time or place as a Spinosaurus. Separated by 10's of millions of years and 1000's of miles on the globe.
The 2 sauropods getting freaky was kinda funny, but why did they have to be woolly? There are NO woolly sauropods!! FFS. They didn't even have feathers, so why put anything on them? Was it to hide their naughty bits when they were doing it dino-style?
That polaroid was the best part of the movie, tbh.
I didn't care for the weird camera angles they tossed in at the family room pow wow. We get it, you're artsy. But enough already.
And lastly , how are 3 large crocodile like critters going to go into a house, climb up 2 sets of stairs, and into a small room but leave what I saw was dozens of human snack lunches, just laying wide out in the open, untouched? WTF?
Oh, right. So the movie could happen. Of course.
3/10 - I liked Primitive War better. At least it knew what it was trying to do.
But the audience seemed to like it well enough. Bunch of weirdos. My guess is most will give this a 5 or 6 out of 10.
