This is on a much grander scale than the original for all the pros and cons. I think the original is empty but watchable. This is a bit more of a full movie. With some good character development for Andy. It does make a bit more overall sense for how the movie plays out.

Some of the good ideas aren’t taken to their full conclusion. At times it does go for shock value but other times it doesn’t feel nearly as dirty as it should. The movie is a bit too clean looking.

All the acting is good. Hamil is appropriately creepy but I don’t think he got to do enough. At times also, he gets to close to his Joker voice.

I also feel like one of the deaths was undeserved.....
Like I understand partly why they did it but I was like “seriously, you’re going to knock that person off”.

Yeah I know what death you're talking about but I feel like it was kind of needed

Yeah.... but it could have been someone else. I don’t know who. Also, that was the boringest death but also maybe the scariest? Does that make sense?

I may see this movie solely to see how Aubrey Plaza does as anything other than Aubrey Plaza.

She’s fine but she really isn’t in the movie that much. The movie takes its influence from stranger things and IT by making the kids the real focus

She exists as your typical single mom who has shite taste in men but tries to make her kid happy.

I loled at “I had a very productive sweet 16”

I also didn’t fully get their backstory. Because they don’t explain it. But I think Andy’s father had just died. Because there was a picture of the family unit from not long ago.

Just saw it I enjoyed it but felt they could have done more solid 6/10 for me. I thought it was acted well and Hamill did a great job. If it does well enough and there is a sequel I hope they let Hamill really open it up more.

I seem to recall Aubrey Plaza saying that Karen is a widow.

His head is freakishly big. I assume they did that on purpose to make him scarier, but it just looks weird.

I enjoyed it more than the new Halloween. I prefer the look of the older Chucky doll though. And I was worried about Dorif not voicing Chucky but that didn't detract from the movie.

Just got out. Thought it was excellent and I’m a huge fan of the original.

Me too. It's actually one of the better reboots I have seen.

This got a really low cinema score and I can’t figure out why. Like everyone I’ve talked to has enjoyed it at least a little

Just rewatched the original and I think standing alone the 2019 movie is better.

Cousin and I went and really enjoyed it, especially the third act.

First act is the weakest but once he starts going haywire and killing the cat it starts to get really good

Saw it. It was okay. Didn’t need to be a Child’s Play movie. Obviously done to cash in on the name.

Original is way better.

New movie is malfunctioning doll.

Original is voodoo possessed Charles Lee Ray with funny and vulgar dialogue.
