Those Who Wish Me Dead (HBO Max/Theaters) - Angelina Jolie , Jon Bernthal (Spoilers)

It was ok. Three thinks that didn’t sit well with me.
1 - Angelina wasn’t even the one the bad guys were after.
2 - Bernthal wasn’t done any justice in this movie. He went out in the worst possible way.
2 - We get no closure about what happens to the guy in charge of sending the 2 hit men after the little boy and his father.
I’m easily entertained by action so this was a nice couch flick, but the 3 issues above were just gripes. Overall, 3/5 stars from me.

Does Bernthal play any type of character other than a country baw?

Berenthal is either the hard looking guy with an actual heart of gold, or he’s the nice acting guy that’s actually the biggest scumbag in the movie

Punisher and the Acccountant?
I liked it ok. I was expecting a bit more of an existential theme that Sicario, Wind River, and Hell or High Water had.
Those all leave you unsettled and thinking for a while. This was just a straight up action movie without anything to think about. No complaints but we’ve all set up Sheridan to be a bit more than that.

Maybe I missed it but what information where they killing people over?
They just sort of left you hanging at the end. I assume something damaging against some politicians????
I thought it was dumb that bernthals character wasn’t a little more discreet in the tower. At least walk around and look under shite instead of just standing there and make it obvious you’re talking to someone.
And at least start burning the tower but warn them so they have a chance to get out once you get back down.

It’s never stated directly but it’s a mcguffin.

Mild complaint:
Why couldn’t they location scout and film at a suitable actual fire lookout tower? The one in the film (at least for the establishing shots) is obviously CG, and it’s the only CG in the entire movie. It really sticks out.

You think they actually started a forest fire for this movie?

I mean he probably didn’t realize homeboy was going to climb a tree. He was being pretty discreet.

Okay, fair enough. (Although there was probably some stock footage of actual fires in there too.) But at least that CG was somewhat necessary. And that CG was better than what I’m talking about.
I mean, how hard would it have been to find a fire watch tower that matched the one in the script and film some establishing shots to insert when needed?

Not bad. Not much for story telling, which surprised me a little, but a good streaming movie.

Third degree burn on guys face but he can go on like nothing matters
Posted on 5/16/21 at 9:25 pm to nicholastiger
I really want to try that trick the caused those burns. I have doubts that it would work quite like that.

Watched it yesterday. Was a good lazy Sunday movie but forgettable

Jon Bernthal's characters die a lot in movies/tv.

It felt like there was a good 30 minutes missing. It wasn't bad, but it felt like there was a lot that could have been added to make the audience care more.
