Have a big problem with the episode vilifying the ptsd mom would have having an episode & the nagging arse kid caused her to reflex & accidentally smack him.
If that "hit" is what society considers abuse these days or in the future, then we are all due for a hard purge.

I think they could have gotten more out of the wife/husband situation. At the least go to the next episode. It seemed rather forced and rushed.

Seriously, though, I had the same thought and was talking to my wife about that, this morning. Toby's getting straight, and Kate is getting bigger and bigger.
I honestly feel bad for the actress, if it's a medical thing. If your thyroid goes wonky, all bets are off on what that does to your weight.
The problem is, Chrissy Metz is so bought in to the new PC Hollywood bullshite "OMG, you're beautiful just they way you are," that she's gone all in on being the size of a baby killer whale. I don't care what the "body positivity" crowd say, that's NOT healthy.

The original idea was that Kate would get gastric bypass and lose all the weight and Chrissy Metz was down for it because the producers were going to pay for it. BUT when the story came out the "You're beautiful! Don't lose any weight" crowd came out they dropped that idea. So she won't live to 40 if she doesn't lose weight.

I’m pretty interested in this season so far. Let’s see if that keeps up. Kate not being a total bitch helps. I didn’t like Randall and his wife being at odds all last season either.

While absolutely true, that doesn't mean that there aren't an infinite number of flashback scenes that keep her in the story, unfortunately.
It's a blessing for us when it comes to that device keeping Jack around, but if it's used to continue the story with Kate, unfortunately it flips to being a curse.

I was kinda “wtf?” about all the new characters till they tied it in at the end in typical fashion. I had a feeling something was coming when i saw the Randall Pearson bumper sticker on that lady’s car that GOATmar Epps was working on.
I’m gonna keep watching but man these monologues have gotten ridiculous. Malik talking about the baby to the drug dealer guy. Jack telling his family history to Rebecca’s family at the table. Irl you get about 5 words out before the gangster tells you to stfu or someone at the table cuts you off.
