Because an immediate roster pillaging and coaching turnover is even better than a slow decay.

Edit to add I’m not a Deboer doubter. I think he’s fine. I’m just saying this would be my idea as to why.
The way this reads, a decent lawyer will get this tossed quickly.
Khalil Barnes a 3 year contributor at safety for Clemson has entered. From Athens and we need safety help.
That’s awesome. I drive by there all the time and wonder if they’re any good. There’s a damn resource officer car that sits facing the road right in front of the field house that always tricks me. Haha.
Sacovie White is the next dude at slot. Not to say Taylor will never line up there but he’s much more of a Z. White doesn’t have the burst Branch does, because who does? But he’s really quick in his own right and catches everything and is a little thicker build.
If Carson doesn’t get hurt in SECCG last year, we never see Gunner be a gamer in the second half and look as good as he did with limited previous reps in the sugar bowl. If CB stays healthy we very likely sign Mendoza who ended up at Indiana. I’m more than happy with Gunner but it just goes to the point that the portal would have been a decent option.

Deion doesn’t go in that list. We backed off Julian Lewis because his family (dad) made it clear they were looking for certain demands that we weren’t giving and decided to steer clear that dramatic camp.

UGA and big time QB recruits

The official official news of the Curtis flip has me thinking. A few years ago, we went all in on Arch when it was readily apparent that Julian Sayin wanted to commit to us but we chose to deny him and solely pursue Arch. Thankfully it didn’t happen at the last minute but we didn’t get him and so I don’t think we signed a QB that class.

Last year, Raiola dips at the last second and we keep Puglisi.

Now Curtis jades us at the 11th hour. We were essentially a lock for Bowe Bentley (think Gunner 2.0) but got Curtis’s commitment and gambled on that. It bit us.

Now the transfer portal immediately lessens any recruiting blow because we can always grab at least a decent lower level starter to bridge the gaps, but I don’t think it’s something to solely rely on. I’m to the point that I think we need to do one of 2 things. Either say (for example) “Yea Arch we really want you but we’re taking Sayin too so do with that what you will”. Or we should pursue the high 4 star, less likely to decommit guy from the start. Avoid the high profile extra expensive drama. These guys are gonna cost a lot period, so deal with the ones who seem to be uninterested in the wooing process.

Thoughts?
That continues to be one of the biggest nothing burgers with big time QBs. That they pull in other big talent. They can I guess but it rarely works that way. Craig Daindridge for instance already posted this afternoon that he’s locked in and ready to sign tomorrow.
Being disputed (ish) by JC himself.

Also we just lost that big Juco OT to Az state
Curtis himself just tweeted that he doesn’t know where all this is coming from. Wild if true.
And then 5 minutes ago Curtis himself claims he doesn’t know where all this is coming from and he’ll keep us posted. Wild.
That and there’s only like 12 guys on a bball roster. If you’re decent you’ll probably at least get some PT. Football you may be great but if a good returning starter is ahead of you getting real significant PT is harder.
I think he did last year or the offseason but nothing recently.
DH took Humphreys starting job last year then watched Humphreys out and enter the portal as soon as he could and decided yea that’s how I’m gonna do it. He’s good enough and talented enough that once Robinson and Jones started eating into his reps that if he had kept his head down and a good attitude and kept working, he’d have still played a decent amount. It’s kinda obvious he didn’t.
Didn’t catch anything but 4th quarter. Saw Noah Thomas had no catches. He was coming on lately. What happened?
Idk that about Truss. Actually pretty funny ??
You said a lot of words when you could’ve just said “Kirby outcoached Sark by a lot”.
This is 2028 class but 4 star (5 when it’s really time for 2028 to be evaluated) QB from IMG academy Jayden Wade has committed. 6’4” 195 as a Sophmore this year Advanced as a pocket passer but has great legs when he needs them.
I think they said Chauncey was OK shortly after he went out. Worried about CJA though.

Their O line was vulnerable and they can’t run the ball at all. Their offense is also based almost totally around screens and fake screens. Keep those in check and you should be ok. We were.
