re: Prothro at WR vs TE

Also remember Kelvin Benjamin from the national championship FSU team. Dominated in 2013. Was 6’5” 240 with a 4.61 40. Eventually got moved to TE in pro ball and didn’t do well but as a large receiver in college he was great.

I think they miss Jeremiah Love more than anyone thought. Dude was a difference maker.

re: Did we show too much?

I mean we showed basically nothing in the downfield passing game. Very basic. We also had young guys in super early. Yesterday went exactly how we wanted it to. Dominate with room to get better.
Leavitt is better than I thought but he’s gonna wind up banged up if he’s not careful. Clemson doesn’t have the talent they once did but the ACC isn’t great so they’ll still probably win 7 or so.

I actually think SWH might be short area quicker than Branch was last year but he doesn’t have anywhere near the burst or top end speed. But that’s fine. There’s plenty of very successful slot receivers that aren’t freak speedsters.

I saw Gibby out there. Didn’t flash but definitely played
So because they offer more NIL, we shouldn’t even try right?

I’ve listened to JP for a while now. Not regularly, mostly offseason when the regular Georgia pods aren’t as episode heavy. Anyways. I think he genuinely wants what’s best for CFB, but I think he might have gotten to a point in his popularity where he thinks he can’t be wrong. Used to irritate me on episodes on Sunday after games and he’d be like “I was wrong BUT here’s all the reasons I was wrong and it’s not my fault so really I was right”. I think he has decent ideas/ theories on how to “fix” certain aspects of the sport. A guy like him I think could’ve been an actual asset to the sport itself if he had any power and if his popularity/ ego had paused a couple years ago.
Aside from Humphrey’s TD against us when he was at Vandy in 2024, I haven’t seen him display that kind of speed. Not saying he doesn’t have it but I’d be surprised if he lays down a 4.35 next year at the combine if he’s invited. He also I think is asked to be more of a MRJ than he is a take the top off guy.

re: Using all of these TEs?

I think from everything I’m seeing you’ll see Reddell in a Bowersesque role. In line occasionally. End arounds occasionally. Out wide occasionally. Elyis and Luckie will be your more traditional TEs. Barbour will be a utility guy apparently playing FB and in line. Prothro may eventually be a TE but he’s supposedly played X receiver in all the viewed practices/ scrimmages.
Idgaf about weed so I hope it’s dropped and he misses no time. He has a real chance to start at safety next to KJ.
I’m not saying it wasn’t enjoyable. I’m saying I enjoy the Braves but my love for the Dawgs is in another stratosphere. Also as an eastern suburbian, I was much more connected with the Braves at turner field. I don’t fault them for moving but I’ve been to one game since then.
Even if that was true. Worth it. Granted I’d trade a Braves World Series for a first down.
This is why you take more than 1 stab at a position in the portal. I hope rehab goes well. I had really high hopes for him.

Yes. That’s him. Was trending as a good prospect as a hs freshman and then had the illness. Apparently lost like 70 pounds because of it and had to adjust his diet or meds or whatever Chrohn’s requires to be able to put the weight back on which took his Sophmore and some junior year to do I think

If Jah actually earns it then great. I worry our coaches may fall in love with his “potential” though. If he does, I want Gaston at the other tackle and Greene kicked in to guard. I’m sure they’ll leave Greene at tackle though and Gaston at guard.
Optics are everything. Lose close. Be frustrated. But you can say “almost”. But lose by 25 after being down as much as 40? You just can’t do that.
I’ll watch. But Irene told me she was sleepy so I said goodnight.
Florida fans told us when we hired him. “Yall aren’t making the tourney now, so you’ll like him when he gets you there, but you’ll hate him in the tourney”.
Goodnight Irene. The sad part is I’m not shocked. I just feel stupid for believing. This team proved over and over this season they were too inconsistent to trust.
It’s wild because when we rebound I don’t see laziness. I see a fundamental misunderstanding of blocking out, potential angles based on the shot taken, and a lack of aggression because they don’t understand those things. Yet we are a tournament level above .500 SEC team. It boggles the mind.
