Yeah, that was discussed during the next commercial break during the airing, at home.

I like when they show that Jack isn't Captain America, 24-7.

We had some screamers during the Thursday night premiere of Halloween, and I told Mrs. Vox afterward that I was more on edge during the patrol scene of last week's episode than I was during the entire horror movie.

Real life is infinitely scarier than fabricated, Hollywood shite.

This is the one time I relate to Kate and don't hate Kate. Waiting for the RE calls fricking sucks. But hey one embryo. It does work. :)

So i'm about 15 minutes in...Miguel has showed up with the piano....

Does this explain why there is a several year time lapse before they actually date and become a thing.?

The email Rebecca gets from Miguel says it was a couple of years, but I think the reason for the lapse is just human nature. We'll likely see Miguel step up again and again to help Rebecca and the kids until they go off to college.

When they did the flashback with Jack and Miguel talking about the life insurance, I was scared that Miguel talked him out of it, and felt guilty for doing so. That would've explained why he stepped up in such a big league fashion. Thankfully, it wasn't that.

I think it is because initially you don't like Miguel being married to her because of the viewers affection for Jack. But I think the writers are seeking to totally redeem Miguel in our eyes. One piece of that puzzle is keeping him from seeming like an opportunist. Putting time between Jack's death and their romance does just that. I have to say they are doing a good job with that. Miguel is winning me over.

I’m betting that the kids see Miguel swooping In trying to replace jack early, and basically say Kiss it Miguel.

I’m expecting Kevin to wake up from his passout and say frick off, why am I here.

Randall already blew him off.

Miguel then backs off, and resurfaces later.

Poor Randall can't get any race to like him. Now, Kevin is going to be feeling some of what Randall has gone through, apparently.

I hope Toby goes back on his meds soon. I'm not enjoying his depression. I do like seeing his childhood, though. Some of it.

I still think that Beth is the one that runs for the Philly Council seat, instead of Randall.

That makes no sense. She has less ties to the neighborhood than Randall does.

I have to say, as much as I love this show, I'm getting a bit beaten down by the sad factor this season. Other than Kate getting pregnant (which I really don't care about anyway) there's been almost no "good news" in the last few episodes.

They're due for some sunshine soon.

It's definitely started out as a real downer of a season. With the current story lines, I don't see how it's going to get much better. If Kate's pregnancy is the sunshine, it will likely be short lived. I can't see her pregnancy going smoothly for long, if at all.

it's a typical character and plot arch albeit maybe more extreme or deliberate

of course. There are going to be payoffs for their suffering.

Hell there have been many payoffs this season. Kate finally getting pregnant, Kevin's show being a huge success

Ummm I doubt it

Did you see that flash forward, old Randal scene when Toby is in a depression?

Btw i wonder how many seasons will the wait to reveal what that’s about since it’s their replacement tease to the revealed “how did jack die” mystery.

Interesting to me that previous seasons have been all about how fricked up the Pearson kids are.

Now this season is strictly focused on how fricked up their sig others are.

Weird change of direction for sure.

She has some street cred with respect to her persona in front of the constituents, and her work rejuvenating urban areas. She's been in the trenches, and she's not as lilly-white on the inside like Randall is.

Yes, but I figure that's a "new" future depression for whatever reasons.
