Anyone else find it strange the way Jack treated Nicky? Everything we’ve come to know about Jack would lead you to believe that he would eventually forgive his brother (no matter how much of a dumpster fire he turned into) or at minimum sit down long enough to hear his side of the story instead of letting him rot in a trailer for years.
I thought this at first, but I think Jack saw Nicky as another version of their father and he didn't want to give him the time of day. He wanted to have his own life and not have to deal with the same bullshite he had to deal with with his father. I think he saw Nicky as one more person who let him down and he didn't care enough to hear any of Nicky's excuses.

The same brother that he volunteered to go to the most dangerous place in the world to save. Especially when he was constantly reaching out and hurting. Just seemed to go against the character they’ve made Jack out to be.
I honestly think it was less about how Jack felt about Nicky and more about feeling guilty.
He followed Nicky to Vietnam, HE got him transferred under his command, HE had him at that particular village, HE befriended the boy and his mom, etc.
I think Jack is compartmentalizing and leaving Nicky in his past life because he doesn't want to deal with the guilt and doesn't want to "mess up" Nicky any more than he already is.
Anyone notice Jack at the gas station? Did he grab a six pack? Is this what caused him to start drinking again?

And Kate, no clue how she has any money doing part time singing gigs
She sold Toby’s toys to pay for the plane ticket.

I think you nailed this one. Good call.
Show so better when it focuses on Jack. He is absolutely the most captivating character in the show

Awwww damn Kevin. Can't believe he did that

Well. Kevin’s drinking again.
I thought a lot more was going to happen between Nicky and Becca.

Pretty underwhelming episode
Reminded me of the episode that Jack died.
We expected some big story of how he died, and it was a pretty normal and boring reason.
Same with the Nicky story. We expected to be blown away by what Kevin would help him do. But basically we’re given nothing.

I agree. Kevin’s fall is disappointing but not earth shattering.
