More than Michael leaving, the overelevation of Andy to main character because of Hangover was the bigger flaw
yeah, California was fine.... Manager andy was an awful character though.

agreed. P&Rs valley is a 70 but it's peak is a 92. Office is 40 and 100.
That is exactly how I describe it. They have the same average number, but they get to that average in vastly different ways. P&R never hits the highs that the office gets to, but (after the first season), it never has the lulls either.

Billy Eichner's character. I hate that guy in pretty much everything he's done though.
In my opinion the worst thing about Parks & Rec, he tones down the act later but it is still annoying.

IMO the final season of parks hasn't aged all that well.

Nope. The last season has some threads that culminate well in the last few episodes, that are more like one long one.

Is it worth the journey?
A time when TV could be PG funny and wholesome at the same time.
It's hard to make me laugh. And it occurred to me watching it that I laughed out loud often to this show.
It's also heartwarming.
It's a brilliant show.
I watched the British version first...and recommend it. It's more cynical but worth the watch. I figured the US version would be inferior but IMO it surpassed it.

No. Its an overall mid show propped up by only a handful of genuinely funny episodes.
I know this gets said a lot on TD but this may be the most objectively stupid thing I've read here.

The party at Robert California’s house is one of the better episodes overall. He killed me
Here we have the parlor. I imagined people would set down their coats and symbolically their inhibitions.

Nah, watch it all. Some of it isn't great obviously but there are still some good moments. Robert California has grown on me over the years.
I mean you have to love Garden Party.

The dinner party at Michael's townhouse is peak cringe.
Dinner Party is one of the best comedy episodes of TV there is. The fact that they actually wrote a whole song to go with the episode is just over the top.

It's amazing and funny, but remarkably uncomfortable for the viewer which is a pretty amazing feat for a sitcom.

Kind of agree. There’s still an occasional good episode afterwards, but definitely not as many.
