I’m pretty sure this is the one where he bombed and a lot of people walked out. If it’s good they must have did a hell of an editing job to make it seem like he didn’t stumble over the jokes.

I think Theo is hilarious on his podcasts when he’s just being his normal weird self but his standup is rough. His delivery is just kinda awkward most the time.

If they didn’t walk out, I’m surprised. I like his podcast but this stand up was arse in a bag. I got about 20 minutes through it.

When he calms down and talks in his normal voice, he is ok, but as he gets amped up, it’s just… not funny.

I used to like Theo back in the day when he was on the MTV Challenges and whatnot, but I absolutely can't stand him in his new "comedy career" with standups and podcasts and stuff. For whatever reason he just comes off as a complete tryhard to me, and it almost never feels genuine. Like even the clips that most people like of him making dumb/funny comments on his podcast, I always feel like he's trying to "be funny" instead of just naturally being funny.

I know I am in the minority on that, but I can't stand him these days for more than a few seconds.

He was cool at LSU in the late 90s. He and I had a lot of the same friend orbit once we got to college and we’d work out at the rec a lot together.

I remember the summer after road rules there was a line of girls at the window all staring at him like he was Vinny Chase. I was like holy shite dude your life has got to be awesome right now.

I see what you are saying, but he is a comedian, and his job is to try and be funny. Of course, naturally funny people can be funny without trying, but comedians have so much exposure these days, and none more than Theo. He is constantly behind the camera and mic. He can only be naturally funny for so long when he does 2 podcasts a week that are 1.5-2 hours long. At some point you have to actually try, and be creative. We hear and see pretty much everything he tries and throw against the wall to see if it sticks. And not everything sticks. A lot doesn't. Comedy and jokes are like any other form of art, you try different things until you get something good.

But I can also understand why a person might not find him funny. Comedy is as subjective as music, film, or any other kind of art.

His bit standup sucks. He should do crowd work or improv.

His podcast with Saban was really good . Kinda surprised me, but he took it pretty serious for the most part. I was never a big fan, but watched some clips on YouTube and he's pretty hilarious. His "hmm Bobby" about made me spit my drink out.

I hear about this guy all the time but know nothing about him other than he was on Real World back in the day. I watched like 5 min. of that standup and I have to say I don't get it, at all. Maybe he's better on other platforms but it was really bad, and what they put out as his Netflix special is that bad I can't imagine what his other stuff is like. Does he always power walk back and forth the entire time he's talking?

Same. He was very outgoing and friendly and we’d chat while working out.

Just like all his past stand up specials...not good. He's still good as a podcaster though.

Unfortunately, he's also not as good as he used to be at that. When you remember that he did shows in Qatar a few years back it makes sense why he went full on pro Gaza/Palestine though.

Some of that is probably a response to all the flak he’s gotten for “platforming” Trump and Vance.

I've never listened to his podcast other than clips but me and the Mrs. enjoy standup and live standup. Both his previous Netflix standups were pretty funny. So we went to see him when he came to Shreveport.

When I tell you it was the worst standup I've ever heard i am not lying. He completely lost track of his train of thought 2-3 times and paces around the stage mumbling and actually blamed the audience for his mistakes.

At one point he was pacing around trying to find his place or remember his jokes and a girl shouted out "We love you". He stopped and talked about how uncool that is and tried to have her thrown out.

At the end of the show he apologized but he had completely lost his audience by that point. He had us laughing good for a minute but the mood shifted drastically and became incredibly unfunny.

I actually heard something similar when he came to the river center. Something about how he freaks out when somebody yells at him from the crowd because it completely throws him off.

Also heard he got pretty agitated talking to people after awhile at the Clemson game when he was part of the tiger walk. I kinda get it, it probably gets old entertaining drunks in public when you're sober. He seems like a chill dude that dosent really love being famous.

Yes. And even more so when he forgets his lines

In fairness to him and really any standup, giving a standup 5 minutes is not really a fair sample size. Some are immediately hilarious obviously but some are building on jokes throughout the routine.

That being said I'm not giving this one a shot. Paying $150 for him to forget jokes and blame it on me has soured me on him. He's clearly not a good standup without a lot of editing.

Yea before the show his hype man said don't shout out during his routine.

At our particular show he had clearly forgotten his next line but some people were still laughing from his previous line and he tried blaming them for throwing him off. Under his breath mumbling "not cool man not cool." So now laughing at a stand up routine is not cool.

He started to lose his audience that first time and when he forgot his joke again when the girl shouted out "We love you" it was for encouragement really. Yes, they said don't shout out, but he was literally pacing in silence and you could have heard a pin drop. He makes it even worse by completely stopping and having the cops search the girl out to throw her out.

Maybe you shouldn't do live standup if you can't handle people laughing too hard at your jokes and feeling bad for you when you forget lines. After the show on the way out virtually everybody we were walking by was talking about how awkward/weird it was.

I hadn't heard of any other instances but it doesn't surprise me at all that it's happened other times. It was such a minor thing that he made a big deal out of. Crowds have had to of been worse in other spots.
