That's pretty obvious, that you don't get it.

Season 2 sucks. Power through, it’s worth it

Season 2 takes a rewatch for a lot of people but it is at worst the 3rd best season of the wire.

12435 is my ranking

you have come to the right place, friend

ETA: second time through season 2 is much more enjoyable for some reason. was not a big fan after the first time watching season 2 but definitely grew on me watching it through the second time.

Why the f does nicky have the pi symbol tattooed on his neck? i dont think he has that in real life. that part always kind of confused me considering he is supposed to be some dumb dock worker

This... It's different than the rest of the seasons but still intertwined really well with the mainstay characters.

Plus McNulty with the hookers is great

It really isn’t once you are use to the show going in different direction. The politics, paper and school stories are all equally as different. Season 2 just is the first to throw you off.

There is still a ton of barksdale drama. Everything that happens between string and Avon in season 3 is rooted in events that take place in season 2.

I’ve watched every season multiple times aside from season 2. Watching it once was bad enough.

I’m convinced that the take that season 2 is good are people just trying to sound like they get something that others missed. Not a single person I know enjoyed that season.

You’ve watched season 5 several times but won’t give 2 a second chance even when countless people recommend it?

Season 2 is a masterpiece. I’ve seen 1-4 many times. 5 maybe twice.

Re: season 2
I thought it was the worst season as well during my first watch. Am currently rewatching and I thought it was as good as season one. The Greek/docks are important to understanding later plot lines. It all comes together well

I'm a Sopranos, Boardwalk Empire, True Detective fan. Looking for a new series to watch. Should I try The Wire?

The Wire is the greatest American novel of the last 100 years, and possibly the greatest piece of American art ever created.

That being said, it is subtle, nuanced, and complex - as great novels tend to be. It can only be fully appreciated if you pay close attention to it and attempt to understand and empathize with the characters of the world you are dropped into.

Your choice in TV shows imply you would enjoy the Wire. Your screen name does not.

I started the wire a while back and got stuck on season 2. It’s just not that interesting. Loved season 1 tho.

I’ll power through it when I finish narcos.
