Here's an interview with the comic book creator guy and one with the guy who plays Rick. Since the name of the site is Spoiler Watch, be forewarned.
and ... another interview with the Rick actor. This one is sort of spoilerish too, especially if you are spoiler adverse. LA Times Interview

Chuck Klosterman on Zombies, from today's NYT:
My Zombie, Myself: Why Modern Life Feels Rather Undead
My Zombie, Myself: Why Modern Life Feels Rather Undead
quote:
What makes that measured amplification curious is the inherent limitations of the zombie itself: You can’t add much depth to a creature who can’t talk, doesn’t think and whose only motive is the consumption of flesh. You can’t humanize a zombie, unless you make it less zombie-esque. There are slow zombies, and there are fast zombies— that’s pretty much the spectrum of zombie diversity. It’s not that zombies are changing to fit the world’s condition; it’s that the condition of the world seems more like a zombie offensive. Something about zombies is becoming more intriguing to us. And I think I know what that something is.
Zombies are just so easy to kill.

Dude that's no problem at all. Thanks for your service.
Knowing this I think I would want to be on you zombie team. Only problem is I live in Georgia. When the zombie apocalypse comes down I am heading to the east coast. There is no way in hell I'm going through Atl.

The sig is pretty sweet except for the Cowgirl, lol. I whipped out Sheriff Rick vector for my avatar the other night. It was inspired by Tim's PP7 vector he did earlier in the year. I screwed with it for a few hours. I kept scrapping it and starting over.
timdallinger from the help board did it last night.

Meet me at the Jacksonville Navy base. We'll load up on munitions and have plenty of boats to work from.

Dang! On a whim, I watched the first 4 episodes tonight.... and - This thread has more sub-plots than the show!
That being said... I am equally struck by by the moments of pure humanity in the midst of mayhem I have encountered reading the last few pages as I was watching this show.
to you all.
to this show.
and
to those who have made it back from places most will never go.

I just read through comic book 75. The show will have to be on for a VERY long time to catch up, but dang, there have been about 4 story arcs, many deaths, many new friends, many new locales, etc. The opportunities are obviously endless for this show, and so it seems for the comic book too.
I would really just search on google for The Walking Dead comic books and downloadable. Should be pretty easy
If you like the show, I guarantee you'll love the books, they're fast paced, always have zombies, and great story lines. Sure the dialogue isn't amazing, but it's better than George Lucas

Dang, they just showed an advertisement for the show on AMC with a couple of actors just talking in general about Zombies. And the chick who plays Andrea is fricken' gorgeous cleaned up.
