Several commanders... exact number depending on how large the gang is.
There would need to be specialized groups assigned varying tasks... like security, gathering of supplies, mechanical, medical, etc.
That shite they do on Walking Dead is borderline chaos... in a real life situation they would all be dead.

I disagree with this. Giving all the power to one person will lead to a dictatorship and shooting people the second they are bit. (
) I think it should be a council of 5 people, each with equal votes. All major decisions are voted on and this keeps the entire groups interest in mind.
All it takes is one bad decision by the group's appointed leader to throw the entire group into a down spiral of fighting and distrust.

I like how everyone on thread thinks that they would survive better than the next poster.
On a side note, how many of you have (while watching TWD) said to yourself "well that's just people being stupid, that wouldn't happen to me"
In a scene where someone got them self killed or endangered others because of said actions.

In a situation like this an Alpha Male will emerge. The strongest, smartest or both will end up running shite. Everyone else will either get down or lay down. Or go their own way. I don't necessarily like that it would end up this way, but that's just human nature. Ideally you would hope you get grouped with someone like Rick who takes feelings and shite into consideration. If you get stuck with a Terd, you will be fricked in the arse everynight if he feels horny.

My services as a psychologist could be invaluable to the group. I could help us resolve our within group differences while at the same time designing lots of cool behavioral experiements to use with the zombies, helping us to devise the most effective ways to manipulate their behavior and thus kill them in the most efficient manner with the least risk to the group.
As for those bitten, when they go off to take out as many walkers as they can before turning, we would have to load them up with the napalm/explosives cocktail and use a dead man trigger of some kind so when they were eventually overwhelmed by the zombies the explosives would go off whether or not they were able to trigger them manually or if they lost the nerve to press the manual trigger.
