At least she is self aware

Shows she's playing her role well. You have to be doing something right as an actress to get people to hate you that much.

I don't know if I'm much of a fan of the nomad lifestyle. I think I would like to find a large, defensible area and settle it down. Something like a high-level military base or maximum security prison with strong fences/walls but enough land inside for farming. Water might be tricky, but then you can always scavenge enough stuff to make a cistern if well-digging isn't an option.

The problem with a fortified position is you have to put all your eggs in 1 basket. No structure is inpenetrable and when it is inevitably breeched, you're fricked. Look at the WD people right now. They have nowhere to go to resupply.

Now that the prison is out there, what do some of those that have not read the comic think they will find when they get there? Lots of possibilities with guards, prisoners, other regular people, and zombies all potentially in the mix.
I have read the comic, so I will refrain from any speculation. I hope others do the same.
i've never read the comics so i'll play. it seems obvious that a faciity like that has to be used by someone or some group. i'm not really going to speculate on that, but
i do wonder if the two guys at the bar are part of whatever group is at the prison. i'm trying to remember that episode (nebraska) and can't remember a lot of the dialogue. if i remember correctly those guys were looking for a place to stay/live so i thought they/the group were more nomadic. but then i guess, they could just be looking for a place to raid for supplies, ammo, etc.
randall made it sound like he was running with some pretty bad guys. so i guess it would make for more of a plot if that's what's going on at the prison, but that's my main question if randall and the two guys at the bar's group are the ones at the prison.
very much looking fwd to season 3.

Even if Rick didn't believe Jenner when they found the security guards at the school his suspicions should been answered.
With knowing this, I felt it was kind of silly to leave his back to Shane knowing he was gonna turn.

Having a working backup location would be mandatory, maybe even having 2 or 3 of them.
The farm was hardly defensible though. Some weak fencing and a few boards on windows hardly compare to concrete walls and barred windows. The thing to worry about most is complacency.

Rick is full of silly. It looks like most of it might be leaving his system though.

Rick's secret - He should have told. Like someone mentioned, the group would at least know to destroy the brain of anyone recently killed, regardless of cause.
Agree. This is a good example of the lame writing on this show. It's like they intentionally want all the lead characters to come across as douche-bags. Jenner secret revelation to Rick in the 1st season finale was fine but Rick should have shared the info in the 1st episode of season 2. Rick's explanation and the discussion in Talking Dead was lame saying that Rick withheld the info because he wasn't sure if it was true...... bullshite. Rick emerged as a clear leader and in desperate times a leader shares vital survival intel to instill confidence in his leadership ability and in this case as necessary to the survival of the group. Such information is shared on a need to know basis and the group definitely needed to know that a walker could be created not just from someone being bit by a walker but by any means of death other than head trauma.

I missed season 1, do I need to go back and watch it?

Why?
With the way the story line went it made not one single bit of difference. it didn't even come into play until Shane came back. If it was so important why not take umbrage at Jenner for not telling everyone. I think it is being given artifical importance by both the characters on the show and by some on this board.
I can see it having some psychological effect but as far as group safety and decision making it wouldn't have mattered as far as I can see.

Yes, the first half of season one was really good.

What if someone committed suicide while Rick was away? The blond girl would have been a zombie b/c of Rick if someone hadn't saved her.

What I wish for Lori:
Season 3 starts and Lori gives birth to a zombie baby who immediately bites her. Rick will then say "This is for banging Shane and for allowing Carl to walk around that damn farm unsupervised" and shoot Lori in the chest. Lori will then come back as a walker and Rick will shoot her again while laughing and rolling a blunt. He'll then toss the new born zombie baby to that chick with the hoodie who will slice and dice it then feed him to her zombie slaves. Everyone will be happy, except for Dale who somehow comes back from the dead now that there is something new to unrealistically complain about. Dale is pro-life and strictly against zombie partial birth abortion which causes a new arguement within the group until someone brings up the idea of a moat.

That would have been fricking awesome. Seeing her run around inside the house, biting chunks out of Carol and Lori, who would have no idea where a gun was, and with all the "men folk" out pertecting the farm. You should write for this show.

She would be a zombie because the virus made her a zombie.
That is a what if question based on something that has already happened.
Again with the way the story progressed it made not 1 ounce of difference with anything that actually happened.
if they really wanted it to mean something, they should have had that happen "girl kills self and revives and kills another group member and then Rick admits knowing it would happen/distrust/guilt/wailing and gnashing of teeth ensues"
As it is it seems much ado about nothing.

That would make some good TV. I didn't buy into Rick's angst until his monologue at the end. Until then, he was all about keeping the group together no matter what. He went along with Hershel keeping walkers a pets to accomplish that.
But know he said, "frick it." It's my way or the highway, and I sincerely believe him.

I actually felt something when he said "I killed my best friend for you people!"
Really the first time I have felt anything for his supposed inner conflict
