But know he said, "frick it." It's my way or the highway, and I sincerely believe him.
Yeap, that was my favorite part of last night's episode. I think he finally realized that he was towing around a bunch of babies that weren't willing to sacrifice a little something for the good of the group. I think he was looking dead at Carl and Lori when he said either stay or GTFO. Daryl is the only one that really understands how much Rick is taking all the burden. That's why he took care of Dale. Hershel probably understands that as well now. Everybody else just sat on the porch at the farm and pretended that they were really the ones with the short end of the shite stick.

Season 3 starts and Lori gives birth to a zombie baby who immediately bites her. Rick will then say "This is for banging Shane and for allowing Carl to walk around that damn farm unsupervised" and shoot Lori in the chest. Lori will then come back as a walker and Rick will shoot her again while laughing and rolling a blunt. He'll then toss the new born zombie baby to that chick with the hoodie who will slice and dice it then feed him to her zombie slaves. Everyone will be happy, except for Dale who somehow comes back from the dead now that there is something new to unrealistically complain about. Dale is pro-life and strictly against zombie partial birth abortion which causes a new arguement within the group until someone brings up the idea of a moat.
If we can weave a great death for Carl into that mix, I'd pay to see the movie!

Again with the way the story progressed it made not 1 ounce of difference with anything that actually happened.
That's completely irrelevant if you are looking at it from the perspective of the other characters and trying to figure out why they were pissed.
Also Daryl is awesome for not caring.

I understand what you are saying, I just think that in the overall scheme it hasn't mattered that much. Especially when you balance it against all the hard choices they have been willing to sit back and let Rick make.

Yes, the first half of season one was really good.
Agreed. I still watch, but since then the show has been mostly frustrating for me. There is just too much stupidity among the group. It is as if the writers rely solely on the characters all being morons to advance the plot.

I think it's b/c he was never coddled, even before the ZA. He's always been a survivor.

But alot of the people in the group I would have to cut ties with and just allow us to go our own ways. The way they were just living on the farm and not setting up defenses around the farm really annoyed me.

Well, we have learned they were only there for 2 weeks, and some of that was before the barn incident, so Herschel didn't want them doing jack shite.
Also... that farm was a big big place really. I don' know how that small a group could adequately defend it against what we saw the other night. It would be pretty tough, and require a lot of man power, tractor fuel, etc. etc. to do.
That's kind of the double edge sword. If you build a fortress, then you are spending your time and effort on not preparing to run. If you prepare to run, some feel its like "giving up".
I don't think you can do both, and its pretty hard to do either unless everyone, particularly in a small group, are on the same page... which more often than not, will not be the case.

Should have been some serious division of labor going on. Those women (minus Andrea) should have been getting ready every day (canning food, packing bags, etc) for the farm being eventually overrun. Men and Andrea hunting, fortifying, scavenging, etc.
One thing to note is that the best characters are those with the least to lose. If Shane had gotten over Lori he would have been awesome.
Also is it just me or is the sister far hotter
than Maggie?

I completely forgot about them only being on the farm for two weeks. This kinda changes my opinion on the whole issue, because two weeks isnt that much of time for defense planning. Especially when you have Carl getting in trouble every other day and Shane turning into an animal.
So if they only lived on the farm for two weeks. How long were they on the road from the CDC at the end of season one?

According to the timeline that was posted here...
They were at the farm for 14 days.
Rick has only been awake for 22 days.
Shane left Rick in the hospital 46 days before he woke up.
And the entire event has been going on for like 82 days.
So Shane/Lori/Carl have been on the road for like 3 times as long as Rick, and they were with that group of people for most of that time.

In the ZA, I'd take either.

The funny thing is the first thing that came to mind after reading this was "damn Lori, is one easy lay."
