I thought that both episodes so far have been great. I think that Rick has adopted the mentality that he has to do whatever has to be done to ensure that they survive by any means necessary. It's great, but I am curious if he's able to draw the line clearly and not become a duplicate of shane. It appeared though at the end when talking to Lori that he's able to differentiate between the protector and leader.

Must say that this season looks infinitely better than last season
Maybe I'll stick around to watch this show

Well, they weren't in prison for their brains or decision making skills. It's actually the type of bravado I would have expected from them. They have no clue what's been going on in the outside world, but by nature of having been in prison so long, have become dangerously territorial
It was increasingly obvious when they tried to prison shank the zombies

I'm sure that squirrely, trailer park looking prisoner will pop back in at some point. He isn't a well known actor or anything, but he's a "that guy" actor that I definitely recognized from other things. Shows don't normally bring in guys like that for half an episode, when you probably could have found someone to play that role for free.

My speculation is that he's the guy that runs into Carl in a secluded area of the prison, and then we find out what really got him put in prison.

They were in the cafeteria. Water fountains maybe?
quote:Good point, doing that eventually puts another walker inside the walls though.
But you could just lock his arse in behind you as you leave that cell block. They were going back to their own block anyway.

If the prison had a water tower then the water inside the prison would just work on pressure from the tower... so they would be good until it ran out. Obviously need pumps to fill the tower so it's a limited supply but would probably last a good while.

The Latino guy tried to kill him by throwing the walker on him, the guy that ran was also a threat. I like the direction Rick has taken but i still consider him the "hero", hero's don't generally kill in cold blood.

Does a zonbie not rot to dust and bones like a normal dead body? I would think in about 2 weeks in the south's summer nothing would be left.
Either way the show is still great
I have always wondered this. Seems like they would rot away.

I agree that he'll pop back up, but I'm pretty sure he made a reference to drugs being why he was in. at least that's what I thought I heard

He did, that's why I say later on we'll find out for real why he's there.
ETA: again, just my speculation. But he looked really creepy, so I'm making assumptions based on that.

The prisoners should be given a chance to prove themselves, labor is going to be needed.

edit that.
Why? It's what I think will happen. I don't know anything beyond what I've seen on the show.

While there's been no doubt that this season has been a lot better than the last, I'm starting to think more and more that last season was imperative.
With all of the really good action/drama shows, they spend a lot of time building characters throughout the first couple of seasons. With TWD, the first season was primarily focused on Dale and Shane struggling with their humanity. And sure enough, at the end of season 1, the characters everyone had the strongest opinions about were those two. Where TWD failed was with the rest of the group. No one really cared about the rest of them (except for Daryl), even Rick.
What Darabont did last season was make you care more about these characters and their struggle with their humanity. That is what has made this season so great, not only a shite ton of action, but also the characters going against their norm that was established last season. Everyone is starting to care about Hershel and Carol. You're seeing this transformation of Rick and Glenn. Even Lori and Carl have shown signs of struggle and transformation.
Where Darabont screwed up was by having all of these personal struggle with humanity episodes in one season, which kind of made season 2 a bore. But now that we have had all of these episodes, the show has been spectacular, up there with Breaking Bad, GoT, and BE, shows that have already shown you multiple sides of a character.

I think the character Tiny would have made the coolest zombie ever.

I expect one or both of them to end up with the group by the end of the season.
