ABSOLUTELY NO SPOILERS. Comic readers who want to speculate may start their own thread.

Why did Rick cut Hershel's leg off? Did he think Hershel would turn into a walker? I didn't think it worked that way.

Jesus frick Lori is such a bitch count. I think I hate her more than Betty Draper. I hope she loses the baby. If that happens, Rick won't need her around. He can use her for walker bait.

To try to stop the infection from spreading. The infection would end up killing him and then he would turn into a walker.

But what about the whole "We're all infected." thing? I thought all you had to do to turn into a walker is die (like Shane)? I know Hershel was bleeding out but I don't know how cutting his leg off would stop that.

My speculation is that there is the dormant infection they all have that activates when the person dies, but the infection you get from being bitten can actually kill you.

Any bite whether from a dog or another human could kill you due to infection if not treated properly. It doesn't help that a walker's mouth is not likely to be the most bacteria free environment.

I agree

The bacteria transferred from the bite would kill you by infection and then the virus would reanimate you

If they can get rid of the infection quickly by amputation there's a chance

Seems like a dirty hatchet on a prison floor amputation isn't the best way to avoid infection though

I was anxious to see them cauterize the wound.

They all know a bite results in infection which results in death.

They saw this with Jim in Season 1 with his bite to the arm. His condition worsened everyday and he was dying. I'm guessing Rick's thinking is if he cuts off the bitten part immediately, then the person won't die from the initial zombie bite. Guess we'll see if this theory works.

I'm really interested to see what happens with the prisoners. Hopefully, they do some sort of flashback and tell how they have survived up until this point.

thank you for making a thread. I wouldn't have been able to deal with a 500 page season long thread

and Dish and AMC settled their lawsuit and AMC is coming back tonight for Dish customers: LINK

Please tell me that isn't a spoiler. If that happened in the comics, take it down and head on over to the TWD thread for literates.

And if he does turn into a walker...he won't be very fast.

Da fuq?

I'm referring to the prison being overrun by walkers. I'm sure there's a cool story there. There was no spoilers of any type in my post.

Calm my friend. The natural story people are so paranoid about anything posted. If they are so interested in the natural story why do they start ,read or post a thread? I think they just like being able to bitch about possible story spoilers.

I agree opening this episode with the initial fall of the prison would be cool. I really wish they produced the soldier story.

It was the only rational choice. Either it works or it doesn't.
