That whole scene was awesome.

frick that idiot.

ane is a grat character because he is so controversial. I hate him, but he moves the story. Daryl is still the fricking man.
Yup.

Gonna be interesting to see how Rick deals with the whole Sophia thing. He's going to feel like shite again and feel like he was the reason she ended up a walker.
He should feel like shite. He's a dumbass.

So that's what all those groans meant.

What I've learned from this season so far is that old people suck in a ZA. If I was Shane I would've probably popped Dale.

They can make good zombie bait to ensure your escape in the future. Don't waste such a valuable resource by killing them at a time that doesn't benefit you.

I, like many of you, loved last night's episode. And I think I would have reacted that same way Shane did when he saw Rick leading the walkers. On that note, why didn't they bring one at a time to the barn. Putting both ropes on one walker so as to lessen the risk, and have two people lead one back.
I loved Shane taking a break from shooting the barn walkers to turn around and pop off the one Rick was holding.
The only thing that would have made this episode better would be if Carol had gotten bitten by Sophia and then shot by Daryl.

I thought it was well done how he shot them in the chest several times to exemplify the point that they're not alive or sick. Even Herschel as a man of medicine couldn't argue after seeing that.

I completely agree... and in turn got everyone to quickly take his side. Shane said everything necessary to rile up everyone... ie. they killed Amy, Otis.. etc.. and also before that gave them the means to address they vote with the guns.
I think Rick shooting Sophia, like the others shooting the barn walkers, is symbolic is showing that they will not stand for living in danger, and putting an end to caring for the undead.

Posting my thoughts on last night's episode, then I'll read/catch up with the thread.
I liked it overall, but it just reminded me of just how slow things go on this show. So for exactly half a season, they've been looking for Sophia, and it was all basically a waste since she was dead (well, undead).
That being said, the way it happened was awesome, with Shane emptying the barn and going ballistic on everybody. I thought Herschel's reactions were awesome as you could tell it truly hurt him deeply to see the "people" he loves and cares about demolished by these people and their guns on his farm. It was a really powerful scene. To see Shane shooting the girl zombie over and over to prove his point to Herschel was awesome. And then at the end when the group saw Sophia, and then Herschel's point rang true (since it was someone they cared about and invested so much time in). Glad to see Rick step up and shoot her though.
They sure as hell did waste a TON of ammo on them though. There were only about a dozen or so zombies to kill, yet they shot like 100+ times and were shooting them in the shoulders and chest and shite.
frick Dale. Taking it upon yourself to go and hide your group's main protection? GTFO of here with your high horse bullshite. Also, I noticed he kept his rifle and didn't appear to be burying/hiding that one. And it mostly seems to hinge on his feelings for Shane and the whole Andrea situation. What a selfish prick. Interesting character though.
Maggie apparently has changed her mind on the zombies, and she even appeared to nod approval to Glen to start shooting. Plus, he guaranteed arse for the next month or more with what he told her. Nice move by Glen.

T Dog and Carol are worthless to the show now. They need to get bit and Hershel needs a arrow through the head. Shane pisses me off because he is a whiny over dramatic bitch. He wants to be a leader so bad but nobody really listens to him. When they went to Atlanta he stayed behind. What leader does that? Daryl is my favorite and it's gonna be interesting to see what he does when Merle comes back.
If its me, I take over the house and the barn at this point.

without question...he looked to her for approval and she gave it.
As for the ammo...there is an entire world of ammo available...they'll find more.
Or just use crossbows and lawnmower blades.

Great episode, but it could use some flashbacks like Lost that tells the survivors back story and makes you care about some of the characters. If not then start killing off the losers (Dale, black guy, carol).

Damn you. I just logged on this morning to post that exact same thing.

I would too but it would make for a boring arse show as it did for the first 6.5 episodes of this season.

This was incredibly selfish and irresponsible of Dale. I'd almost go so far as to say it would warrant Shane offing him and stuffing him in a drain pipe somewhere.
What's so interesting me about this show, is how many characters I hate... and how much I am enjoying watching them.

Yup. One scene that really captures that for me is when Lori has Carl doing math problems. WTF
It's the god damn zombie apocalypse. They need to be out there fortifying positions, gathering food and supplies, and planning escape routes to Ft. Benning.
