It's been said that the disease only takes effect after a person is dead, and brings them back to life. However people like Otis are eaten entirely can't of coarse come back... So to become a walker.. you must be bitten, and then die.. and not simply bitten. This being said it is believe Sophia was bitten.. ran away from the attacker and then bleed out and died on her own to become a walker?

The disease kills you, after being bitten... then brings you back to life.

There's any number of ways that Sophia could have been bitten and escaped. That's perfectly plausible to me. Otis was devoured by a crowd of walkers (or WAS HE?? hrmmm), but there's been plenty of people bitten on the arm, leg, etc.

If I'm writing scene to explain Sophia...
"Sophia saw the child sitting on the swing. She hadn't seen another person in days, much less another child. It made her miss Carl and the others. She approached the child, cautiously from the behind the tree, and whispered "Hey..." to get his attention. ONLY TO HAVE HIM WHIRL AROUND AND BITE HER before she could kick him down and run away."

blah blah

When Herschel got Rick to help him round up the zombies, why were the zombies just stuck in the swamp? Did they set up traps or something? Didn't really explain it unless I missed that part.

When they were walking toward the Walkers (no pun intended), Herschel was talking about how the silt content of the creek bed was like cement. I wasn't really paying attention to this either and had to go back to listen to it again.

The disease itself doesn't kill you. If it's the same logic as in the comic... you could never have been biten, die of a gun shot and still come back as a walker.

There's been a lot of talk of a "moat" built around the property, and I was wondering how they managed to keep the Walkers from being all around (even though they would still watch for them) but I'm guessing the creek is their natural answer to a moat.

Didn't the doctor at the CDC explain that the disease attacks and shuts down the brain, essentially killing you and then reanimates only the brain stem?

Not sure the disease works the same way as in the comic. That one guy was bit and died from infection,

Shane and Rick need eachother. Rick is a compassionate leader; too compassionate for this world. Shane gives him what he lacks.

This statement seems contradictory?

Anyway... didn't the black guy in the very beginning of last season talk about his wife getting feverish and sick after being bitten and eventually dieing of it? And then coming back all Zombified?

That's pretty accurate. They are both lacking in a big way a the single leader. Without both of them... the group dies pretty quickly, IMHO.

I guess everyone is planning on putting silt in their moats now? So much for all you moat-laughers.

I think we will begin to see Rick change... and the beginning of that was putting a bullet in Sophia's head.

Because he's the hero the group deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll criticize him, because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector...A dark knight.

A zombie bite, no matter how small or it's location, is 100% fatal. It depends on the location and size of bite first, and then depending on the person's health or immune system.

Could take hours. Could take days. But if you get bit, you are dead

A portion of any proceeds from said story should go towards a TD Zombie Defense Fund (or TDZDF) aimed at stockpiling food, weapons, and supplies (including moat digging equipment of course) in preparation for Z-day.

Funny thing is that TWD is in issue #91 and Sophia is still alive and kicking.

Granted you mostly forget she's even around, but still. She didn't last long in real life Z world
