Did anyone else come away from this episode hating Herschel?
If he wanted them to move on he could've just shown them the girl. The main reason that they hung around after Carl got better was to find sophia.
Herschel's motives are pretty muttled IMO.

The executive produce of the show just said on Talking Dead that Otis was the guy who put the walkers in the barn. So he said they were implying there was no knowledge of the little girl being present in the barn by the old man

Yeah, I just saw that.
Herschel is just a sentimental idiot, and not a deranged jackass.

On one hand I am thinking Herschel doesn't know what Sophia looks like so how should hw know that that is the girl that they were looking for.
But on the other hand, well, he should be able to put two and two together. And figure, if nothing else, that that might be the girl they were looking for. But, is his misguided way, I can understand why he didn't.

Well there you go.

I'm still trying to figure out how people don't like Shane.
Society and it's rules are gone, this is a god damn zombie Apocalypse! Kill or be killed and Shane is the only guy who seems to get that.
Next they should put a bullet in Herschels head and build a moat

We then he shouldn't be with a group.

Dale and Herschel are probably gonna end up allied in some fashion.
Both of them bug me, but they are the only guys who still have any kind of respect for their humanity.
ETA: They may have hinted at a Merle return on the Talking Dead.

Yeah the Darryl guy pretty much said it was gunna happen. It was a pretty obvious hint if it was one.

Nice, but predictable reveal at the end. This season feels much like last, more of an interlude than an actual season. They needed to move on from this scenario and not drag it into next season.

I bet that is who they are shooting at in the next episode.

Finally, a good episode. Im sure it got everyone pumped for the next 6.
I see that the cool zombie book readers abandoned their direct spoiler method and switched to the "foreshadowing" method. You people are awful and ruin these threads.
And don't ask what Im talking about, you already know.

I've never read the comics. I just throw out hypotheticals.

The only thing that would have made that episode any better, dynamic, or revolutionary was having all of the group hesitate for a while to shoot Sophia. Finally, have Rick start to walk towards her slowly, only to have Hershel step between them with his hand out. Then have Hershel pop Sophia in the face...no hesitation.

Best episode this season by far.

Yea, I'd say the last 15 minutes saved this season for me. Too much drama and not enough action for most of the season, but that ending was perfect. It was like they were shooting all of the earlier episodes and finally moving forward to awesomeness.

Expect a lot more screaming and crying next season! Before episode 2 of next season, they either need to seize the farm by force or fricking leave. I found the final few minutes pretty predictable and filled with empty, tiresome drama. And Rick shoots another kid.

How come everyone has failed to mention that the swamps did a great job keeping out the zombies. My point being that you naysayers of said moat should really reconsider your disbelief in it's ability to contain the outbreak. Not to mention, if you want to teach someone to face their fears/learn to shoot all you have to do is get a few targets out of the water with a simple dog catching restraint.
My analysis = Moat +1, zombies 0

Apparently, the budget won't allow for this.
