I watch Fear. But I can't watch the other one. It's like it is made for teens. It's horribly acted and the story doesn't make sense. I watched most of the first season and quit. Does it get better?

My apologies, I got mixed up. What do you think happens with Sebastian? He despises his mom for taking his funds away and everyone else sees him as a snake and not to be trusted. If something happens to Milton, could he fill that void since he’s her son?

The other one never gets good, but you need to know the CRM background it gives. 10 minutes on wikipedia can probably solve that.

no worries.

I highly doubt he can fill that void. if his mom is taken down somehow then he is 100% screwed. it seems she is the only reason why he has his status. he made a lot of enemies by threatening peoples family and sending some on suicide missions. mercer would turn on him. Hornsby will finesse him for more power.

even if his mom isn't taken down he is going to a be a huge target of the resistance for leverage over momma milton. this could be a cool plot point if mom decides to throw him to the wolves to try to maintain civilization

Is momma Milton bad or is she just a politician who is oblivious to the corruption inside her family and administration.

I maybe haven't paid attention close enough to know whether she really believed she's doing good for the people or if she is an authoritarian leader in it for the power. She seemed truly shocked there was an underground resistance of thousands of unhappy people. I believe she asked an aide if that were really true and the yes man said it wasn't, then they want on a purge of the resistance. Can't remember if Milton really knew and ordered the purge.

She's definitely not a good guy. i'm not sure how 'bad' she is vs if it's her son, that ex cia killer, and Hornsby types doing the dirty stuff without her knowledge.

But she certainly has the overall governing structure as an authoritarian. She refused extra money going to scholarships to just have a better event or whatever it was. She arranged the caste system to keep people in their place.
I think she was shocked some grunt would infiltrate her elite festival and make a scene.

Pamela is just your standard corrupt elitist who just happens to be in the ZA. Lance seems to be the true villain of the series which is a nice upgrade from his pretty forgettable comic counterpart

I completely forgot about Lance in the comic.

The Commonwealths' caste system is stupid. It was dumb in the comic, and it is dumb on the show. The idea that pre-apocalypse affluence should be rewarded is just idiotic. No community based on that type of premise could ever get itself going, much less become one of the dominant societies.

agreed. if anything it would be based off a post-apocalypse status. but its just a facet of them being an authoritarian regime, as those in power before wanted to/did retake power and maintain it.

the idea that post apocalypse people would care if you were a senator or banker or something like that is silly. maybe military, doctors, engineers would make more sense because they offer a more tangible value and would have skillsets that make them potentially more likely to survive themselves and others around them.

I don’t know the idea of returning to even a semi normal life would sound pretty damn tempting. And just like every civilization before the CW there would always be a person or group at the top trying to maintain that power
