Everything I just posted has to do with the show not the comic?

PS - this show would be so much better on HBO with a titty shot here or there like last night in the truck.

On HBO then a certain future character that uses f ck as a noun verb adjective and adverb could be directly imported.

Can you not keep this to the comic thread?

That timeline estimation that Liberty posted is not a comic thing hedges.

It was great because you get to see him transform but not really. When the walkers in the pit went after his new daughter, he was back to insane hulk-mode governor. It can now go a ton of different ways with him and the prison.

The van breaking down.

Yeah crazy that a vehicle that has been sitting for a long period of time breaks down without any maintenance

Canned spaghettios should still be ok. I thought they said "brownie sticks" but it looked kind of like Jerky so maybe it was "brown sticks", and Jerky should still be edible.

It was slow, but I thought it was a nice change of pace from the prison and I thought the location was pretty interesting. It wasn't overrun with walkers because most of the walkers in the area were disabled. Leaving that area seemed pretty stupid. It also was ridiculous that the Governor didn't have a knife on him most of the times he really needed one.

the Governors transformation

The acting was horrible

The main actor who plays the Governor was great, so that was good enough for me. Acting has never been this series' strong suit so I don't expect Academy Award winning performances

quote:

Food sitting in a truck for 3 years (or however long the ZA has been going on) and still being edible

I think it was all dry goods so they'd just run down and get it as needed. Didn't see the big deal with this one if the area is resonably cleared with Walkers.

The girl twisting her ankle for no reason

People fall all the time for no reason. You have. I have. It happens. Yeah the timing was stupid, but it's a show and birds be scary and shite

quote:

The van breaking down

Horror Movie 101. But it's not like the cars get routine maintenance so I can see breakdowns as pretty common. Would you want to do an oil change when a walker could come munch you at any second?

quote:

Again the roads and fields are clean

It's a tv show. If you nit pick evey little thing like that, then you'll never enjoy it. Or anything.

quote:

The Gov walking aimlessly and not getting bitten

Governor put a sweet juke move on that one walker. And it's not like the walkers are some nimble creatures. A simple side step is usually enough.

quote:

How come no one else has the flu?

Because the flu isn't in their area? Because it's not a global pandemic? Because they aren't crammed in a prison with dirty people? Pick a reason

quote:

I thought this episode sucked

Based on all the reasons you stated why it sucked, I don't agree. But different strokes and I enjoyed it. Hope I atleast offered a counter point to your thoughts on the show.

That was when Phillip/Brian was on the road a few months so I would say Live Bait happened about 15 months into the ZA. Not really that long for Can goods.

Thanks for breaking it down. I thought it was much longer. Yeah I can see canned goods still being good.

TWD does a lot of stuff that I attribute to just lazy writing IMO. It has been better this season but they artificially create drama way too much.

The twisted ankle moment is a good example, van breaking down etc etc. Yes it is horror movie 101 but that doesn't mean we can't question it.

It's funny how some "convenient" things bother me and some don't.

The truck didn't.

The Gov. not having a knife did a bit but I just kind of fan wanked in my head that he dropped it when he fell in the pit and didn't want to take the time to search the bottom of the pit for it while the Walkers attacked the girl (or maybe that he's just so far gone that he likes to kill 'em with his hands).

The ankle didn't really bother me because I can't really see that it was necessary for what followed. Maybe it caused a little seperation between Gov and the kid and the two women so the women didn't fall into the pit. But other than that couldn't the scene have happened pretty much as it did without the ankle?

I feel in the type of situation they are in, they pretty much have to create drama. It would be too smart and easy for a group to hunker down somewhere safe and rarely leave the confines of their dwelling. I know I sure as hell wouldn't if the world was fileld with walking dead and crazy people.

The thing I thought was stupid was they had a sweet setup in that building, and they chose to leave. Why? Someone explan to me why they would leave that area with a little girl where they survived for months without even knowing to destory the brain? That was stupid.

The ankle forced them to drop their bags so they will have no choice but to join the Governor's former henchman's group? Although it seems like they might have been interested in that anyway. Where were they headed anyway? They were in a relatively safe location with supplies before they decided to leave.

Absolutely. We joke about them building moats and everything wrong they are doing but watching them fortify just doesn't make for good tv really.

I just think the writers should have the ability to create drama without following the horror movie 101 script every episode.

At this point, they can't go into a car without the audience expecting it to break down or a disaster waiting to happen.

This is still stupid but I think it's the reason why. 1) The Governor wants to move on because he presumably wants revenge since we later see him outside the prison. 2) With Grandpa's oxygen tank situation the 2 sisters group was not previously very mobile and may have wanted to see beyond the 2 blocks they've been trapped in now that Grandpa's not holding them back. 3) The way the one sister threw herself at the governor, she's looking for a protector for her kid so she probably followed him and he left because he has unfinished business with Rick/Michonne.

I think the only thing that was keeping him at the apt was the little girl. After he killed the grandpa, the little girl appeared scared of him so in his mind it was time to move on.

The little girls mom and sister realizes that the governor is probably the best option to protect them and the little girl. They also talked about how boring it was sitting in the apt.

I think since they left the only thing keeping them there was the grandfather. Once he died they weren't tied to a locatiuon because he couldn't be moved. Still, it was a pretty safe location with a large supply of food within walking distance. I just don't see the appeal of leaving.
