that was like 2013. how is this still going 9 years later?

Yeah I don't think I made it past season 2. I was never super into it anyway.

Also, this part of the show has always bugged me: why haven't all the zombies decayed away into dust by now? Obviously they do decay - I mean, look at them. And it has been years since the initial events of the show that made the vast majority of the zombies in the first place. So where are they all coming from?

Yeah, kind of an issue with all zombie movies and shows. Eventually all their muscle mass should decay (including their brains) and they should become completely inert/actually dead.

i blame this board. i remember i was done and then 50 threads started at the same time "MICHONE!!!!!" and i turned back on to find the ninja-sword wielding woman with 2 zombies for pets and it drew me back in.

but yep, it became tiresome and i think i only started watching because it was on right after(?) breaking bad? there was some type of tie-in there.

The “who did negan kill?” Cliffhanger absolutely ruined the show for a lot people

I stayed for that and held on until after Rick beat Negan. But it was difficult to trudge through to that point. ONce the storyline completed I was gladly out.

I think what really finally killed it for me is when I missed out on an entire season because I was already pretty well burned out on the show, then picked back up the following season because my ex still wanted to watch it, and realized that missing that entire season really had no impact on my ability to follow what was going on. Literally nothing had changed. Still the same group of people wandering through the woods.

I stopped when they were spending episodes walking on a train track. I've never looked back, and I am happier for it.

One of the coolest scenes happened on those tracks.. when the biker gang catches up to Rick, Michonne, and Carl. Rick goes full survival mode to save Carl. That was just the opening scene before the entro too!

Awesome show the first 3 seasons. Just got too formulaic with no resolution in sight.

Once they introduced Ezekiel the weird black guy who pretended to be a medieval king who had a pet lion. That was the final nail in coffin for me.

My mom still watches and I saw an episode with Alpha that actually looked interesting, but I cant invest anymore time into the show.

I stopped soon after the Negan era began. Killing Glenn more or less killed the show for me.

Only thing I will miss is the proliferation of TWD Memes

What killed it for me was Carl dying, and then Rick dying. The entire show for me was Rick trying to save his family from a zombie apocalypse. That's how it was set up season 1 and 2. Then they started bringing in a bunch of other people I didn't care about.

Edit: I realize Rick didn't actually die but, as far as this show goes, he did.

Sort of the same for me. I skipped the last half of one season, turns out I didn’t really miss anything when I watched the following season. I stopped around the time they captured Negan. That whole story arc was so dragged out.

It’s crazy to think this same show was so insanely popular at one point. Everyone from kids to adults were obsessed with watching this show. The cliffhanger on who Negan killed was the beginning of the end of its insane popularity. But it had been clear for a few seasons at that point that AMC was going to milk this show dry.

Yep, that was the episode that jumped the shark. They just spent seasons losing their innocence in the world with the farm and governor. All those hard lessons had to be forgotten because the authors needed them to be stupid enough to walk into that trap where Negan could monolog and brain Glenn and Abraham with Lucille. Then after they get away, they spent seasons where Negan was suppose to intimidate Rick into submission. Rick is the person that killed another man by biting him and ripping his jugular vain out in front of his followers. Yep, some dude was a baseball bat wrapped in a little barbed wire is going to intimidate that dude.

Every episode with Negan was a monolog and then he guts some minor character. Mind you, many times he was by himself in Alexandria. They just all stood around and took it because of "hostages." Rick by his natural progression should have put a bullet between dude's eyes and attacked their compound where the hostages were being held immediately.

TWD is one show that once I gave up on it (when Rick left the show), I’ve never felt the need to look back on the decision. It was becoming a chore to watch.

Seems like they spent a lot of time building up the Negan story arc before even introducing him…then they dragged the storyline out way too long. Even the way they “ended” it was less than satisfying. You wanted to see Negan’s brains festooning that barbed-wire bat.

I suffered through the newest episode. It was just horrible. I’m done. I will watch end of the next 1/3 of season episodes just so I can know how it ended. Do have too much invested to at not know how it ends.

which was only written in the comic so it would be on the TV show.

Shouldve been a shark instead. Just to jump over.
