I wouldn't call going and trying to assassinate people at the train station, innocent.

Who did?

Did the show tell us these were the same people?

I could be wrong because it’s been a long time, but I don’t remember anything from that episode in the book. Either way it was the weakest episode. The part I did like was Reece leaving the round on the top of that hill.

It’s been awhile since I read as well, but I didn’t remember this either. I thought he didn’t blow up the mountain/do anything to the feds that were just following orders.

Right. If I remember correctly it was a Seal team that was after him. He lured them into a kill zone of explosives and then let them go. They realized he had them dead to rights which kind of caused most of them to bail on hunting him.

I haven’t read the books so I’m assuming Ben’s death was in there as well but I wish Reece had spared him. He was just shown forgiveness by the FBI agent then goes on the finish Ben.

Reece didn’t need forgiveness from the FBI. His actions were justified.

Ben participated in the murder of his own friends for profit.

Situations aren’t comparable.

I actually agree with you in theory. If they were just private security guys, then Reese killing all of them isn’t defensible and isn’t in line with the character.
I just told myself they were all hit men for Horn like the one in the car, and that made it make sense.

Every scene with him was designed to make you hate him more and more. His play acting as an operator, his tattoos, everything.

100% agreed, but it was the first time it was intentional.

Normally I just hate Jai Courtney for being Jai Courtney but this time his douche factor actually made him better for the role.

Wow. What a show. Best thriller I seen in a while. Bravo Chris Pratt.

Personal note...Kind of miffed though that he is supposed to be a born-again Christian and is out here cussing. Hollywood and Jesus don't mix. The oil and water eventually separate.

I’m a deeply committed believer but I find our obsession with language a little strange. I seldom use that kind of language and certainly don’t throw on movies with a lot of language for my children. I often find myself rolling my eyes because I think it’s lazy dialogue writing. But sinful language in the Bible seems to be all about the intent behind the words more than the words themselves. I’ve found a church lady who doesn’t use 4 letter words can slice a person open with their tongue just as effectively as others who cuss like a sailor. I once had a Christian friend tell me if I ever walked out on my family he’d go to where I was kick my arse and drag me back to my family (Not because I was contemplating it, just to give me a heads up if I ever did). Other 4 letter words were used. It was an expletive laced tirade and probably the most loving thing a friend has ever said to me. So I think we need to look at language a little deeper than “f word bad”.

You make good points. I am as well. Also in this show, which is depicting the operator community and the military in general, to not use such language would take away from the authenticity they fought so hard to include in this series. The language if anything was majorly toned down from my experience.

If you on the battlefield and shooting back, you in war. Private security knows they will have to be in a gun fight at some point and took that risk. Just unfortunate they chose the wrong group to secure.

I will absolutely not defend his decision to kill the unarmed security person in the SecDef house. That was out of character for sure.

I noticed how when Seal Team moved from CBS to Paramount+ they started dropping F bombs and other words. I think to your point, it is to closer relate to the personality type of an operator - if that's how they even are (I don't personally know one).

We pushed through last night and should not have. I was barely awake and a little buzzed. Can someone tell me what was so bad about the Secretary's actions? The 9 minutes?

So you would have been good with him killing that team that was chasing him in the mountains?

If he has the opportunity to not kill, then he doesn't. If the people give him no choice, then it is what it is.

Security people were firing back on the streets and shooting recklessly. He couldn't have done anything.

Soldiers he could evade and escape. He could do what he needed to without killing.

How many operators/vets you know that are Christians at home and maintain a church sense vocabulary when they’re in a shite storm?

Honestly, you should let others make those kind of statements about you. Coming from you it sounds like “I am an extremely humble guy, who only wants to do good for others.” I mean if you call yourself humble, are you? and if you say you only want to do good for others, isn’t that an exaggeration? I find those that I think are deeply committed believers, if asked them would say they fail everyday, and there is nothing good in them.
